Douglas has labelled Gervinho 65-35 to join and Gameiro 50-50.

Mark Douglas does not have a clue.

Your right, it was not him breaking the story about Cabaye.

Yes and no. The 'international midfielder' story came out of the blue.

See the problem Douglas has in this situation is he refused to name or even hint at who the midfielder was. By the time he came to print the story it had already been reported in France and circulated round the internet.

Aye but come on. I could name and most of the forum did name a dozen players it could of been. You just need look at the thread.

I'm inclined to believe him slightly. If he had just given more specific details than the vague statements he made such as 'French' or 'Picked up a league winners medal' I think he would be receiving a lot more credit.

In the end I felt sorry for him in some ways because he was probably hoping to shift more papers by keeping it under wraps till Sunday.

Yohan Cabaye, midfielder torchbearer of Lille, is bound for Newcastle, who also approached Sheikh M'Bengue, and Kevin Gameiro Gervinho. A four-year contract awaits the French international.

Newcastle activated on the front of transfers and more specifically on the French market. After submitting a bid of 12.5 million euros for the striker Kevin Gameiro Lorient (24 years) , who was also invited to visit the facilities of the twelfth of last Premier League (who also checked the names of Mevlut Erding and Djibril Cisse), the Magpies are set to finalize arrival Yohan Cabaye (25, Lille) who did not wish to extend his contract which expires in June 2013.

The various parties have reached an agreement last Thursday. Transaction amount: around six million, the amount of the release clause in the midfielder 'box-to-box "of the club president Michel Seydoux, who also appeared on the shelves of Valencia, Aston Villa or Lyon. Yohan Cabaye in England is now expected to sign a lease for four years with the club's former player of Lyon and Marseille, Hatem Ben Arfa, who hopes to formalize the deal within ten days.

New offer for M'Bengue Gervinho hoped

Highlight of the sale of Andy Carroll in Liverpool during the last Mercato, Newcastle has a war chest of nearly forty million allowing it to offer highly concessional terms to the players approached. M'Bengue Sheikh ( 22 years), the left rear of Toulouse , is also in good books of English club who just made a new proposal, estimated at six million (note: the first five cons who had been denied). History compensate the announced departure of Jose Enrique. But the Violets have set the bar at eight million euros for an item courted by Lille and Marseille.

Finally, Alan Pardew, the Magpies' manager, also hopes to convince another player Lille: Gervinho (24), whose contract expires in June 2012. Wanting to join the Premier League, former Manceau is closely followed by Manchester City, Arsenal, Tottenham or Everton, which has a budget of 10-12 million € to recruit a world class striker. According to our information, Gervinho is not insensitive to the interests of Newcastle (who also thinks Jeremy Menez and Charles N'Zogbia). It must also met with Alan Pardew in the coming days. But another English club, whose identity has not filtered, was also effectively positioned to retrieve it. The Ivory Coast international has now the choice of two clubs. He will have to decide. Newcastle is about to take a strong French accent.
