A little surpised to see Jonny Godsmark has dropped all the way down to Ashington in the Northern league. No offence to Ashington but I thought he would have got a lower division club or Conference club at the very least.

Suppose its a chance to play regularly and build his way back up to find his level. He is from there isnt he? Hope he hasnt settled for the easy option and given up on any real future though.

Guidepost, so aye he is really.

If pace makes you talented at football then aye...

Was he not scoring with decent regularity for the reserves? His name always seemed to pop up, and he looked to be a regular for the reserves.

Well I wouldn't mind the lad Gyan who played for Ghana tonight, despite his penalty miss.

What's happening with appiah? Wasn't he on a free and ready to accept a pay as you play contract?

Always liked gyan from the limited times I have seen him in world cups.

He can be the new Martins, an African striker who has played in Italy, and goes from the sublime to the ridiculous!

Sky:-

Middlesbrough are reported to be leading the chase for the 26-year-old having tried to sign him during the January transfer window.

Premier League pair Blackburn and Newcastle are also both in the running for the prolific forward as he looks certain to move to England.

What the fuck?

Skysports.com understands Newcastle are planning a shock move for Everton starlet Dan Gosling.

Everton risk losing highly-rated midfielder Gosling on a free transfer following a contract wrangle.

It is understood the Premier League have been asked to make a ruling after the England Under 21 prospect was not given a new contract offer in writing.

Everton claim they offered Gosling a rise verbally, but nothing was sent to him by the due date and he could be available for nothing.

The news has alerted a number of clubs to Gosling's possible availability and newly-promoted Newcastle are thought to monitoring the situation.

Newcastle do not have much money to spend in this summer's transfer window and landing Gosling for nothing would be a massive coup for the Magpies.

Gosling, who is currently recovering from a knee injury, is highly-regarded at Goodison Park and Everton are loathe to lose the 20-year-old.
