He is just a very mediocre keeper that is no better than what we have, and unlikely to significantly improve unlike Krul. He'd make a good signing for some Premier League clubs. His distribution and command of his area is poor and the amount of mistakes me makes more than negates the saves he makes. Another in the long line of overrated West Ham squad members. You watch him on say Match Of The Day and he makes 5 or 6 really good saves, and then you have the pundits saying; "Oh he was great it would have been more if it wasn't for him." Which in a sense is true, but that doesn't make you a great goalkeeper or even a good one. Shot stopping is just one facet of a goalkeeper's job, it's an important one, but you also need to organize the defence, claim crosses, sweep up through balls occasionally. So with that in mind while he probably did look a good goalkeeper for West Ham where he was battered most weeks, for someone like England with a superior squad and less to do over the 90 minutes you get a much better idea of how good he is or isn't.
