NUFC transfer rumours in the press

 You'd think some people on here were (greedy) NUFC shareholders the way they'll wank over high incoming transfer fees while admitting it'll never be reinvested.

~£45m up since Ashley arrived according to that site. :fwap:

Take out the £40m or so we lost for going down and we're about even.

Getting sick of this fuckin 'blueprint' on transfers tbh. I can see the logic in it, but it just can't be a fit all rule. This blueprint left us without a centre back when we played Norwich. There has to be some consideration on the actual team as well as looking to make a profit on every single signing. The wage cap is fair enough, but simply throwing away points because we're short in some positions hardly helps the club progress. And im not on about buying superstars.

Aye, thank god for relegation. Otherwise there would be serious questions to be asked.

Exactly, there has to be some flexibility, at the moment its far to rigid to the detriment of the team.

Was just looking at the comments from Llambias in September on the BBC when he was going on about not making 'knee-jerk decisions at the last minute' and signing someone for the sake of it, then the article goes on to mention that £12m bid we supposedly made for Bryan Ruiz with an hour to go.

There was the N'Zogbia bid in January as well.

Laugh all you like lads.

Tiote has been s**** this season and is NEVER worth 25mil.

I do agree however that its unlikely they will reinvest but its more likey that we would get a LB, CB and ST WITH 25mil extra rather than without it...

that 25mill will go to Sports Direct bonuses anyway.

:sadnod:

Tiresome.

Aye, as a loose principle it's fine, sensible even. Buy players coming into, or not yet at their best years. means you can buy for cheaper, get them at their peak, and, if you need to, get a better price selling. But applying that loose guiding principle as a rigid law is idiotic in the extreme.

They tried to mock Keegan in the papers for wanting to sign Dunne, saying he had no resale value. The club even said the Campbell signing was one of the reasons they got rid of Hughton, as if they were making some huge exception that Hughton was staking his job on, when it was really just a small gamble on a short-term 4th choice centre half with a bit of experience.

Some still not grasped the fact that no matter how much a player goes for the only difference it makes to the team is that said player isn't in it any more?

Exactly. £15million of the £35million 'stayed in the club' and went on Tiote's contract. Erm, what about the contract that Carroll had signed about 2 months earlier? Funny how the club take someones wage out of the £35million, but don't count the saving in the wages of the player sold. Not the club lying, but being clever with the way they present information.

Very true, Tiote has been poor to say the least. If any bids of £25m do come in, we should snap their hands off.

Just reading on Foot Mercato that Erding/c is set to leave PSG this January and they want £7m-ish for him. They're saying he might go to Rennes as they were on the verge of signing him in the summer, but surely he would class as one of these players we've done the homework on?!

Rather we sign no one than that cunt.

I wouldn't know tbh, never seen him play. It's just that we're saying we can't afford to take the risk on anyone that we've not studied closely, and here's a player that we apparently chased for ages that is seemingly going to be available. Unless they're not being honest with that reasoning and there's simply no money available for more than one player.

I just don't like his attitude, would rather sit on the bench than play football, Turkish Owen, he can go fuk himself IMO.

Was it definitely like that or was he just happy where he was and thought he had it in him to fight for his place?

Could be that he has given it his all, not gotten any closer (and IIRC they are still trying to sign players in his position) so he has now decided he will move on? :dontknow:
