To me the quote of "Their is no plan for a capital outlay of players" does not neccisarly mean that their is no funds for player available, it to me could mean that they are not putting a figure on how much they will spend on players, they will be willing to pay whatever they feel is a reasonable amount on each player or how ever much it will cost to get Chris' targets in, thus not limiting themselves to a budget.

This is how I see it too. Instead of "Chris, heres £15m to spend", it will be "Chris, we won't put limits on money, buy who you think needs buying. Don't go overboard though".

Wow. Slightly different to the stuff we used to get around season ticket renewal time. Anyway, the board are liars so why believe it...oh yes I did.

Not really an enticing prospect to think we are actively aiming to be a glorified feeder club. Get in the likes of Bassong for pennies and then sell them on to an ambitious club a few years later.

We're pretty much Wigan Athletic now. We'll have the 8-0 and 9-0 defeats to go with it next season.

Wigan buy players. I wish we were Wigan :(

They were better off saying nothing tbh.

Not really surprising there's little/no cash to spend given the state of the finances at the club. Coloccini and Jonas will be very much in the shop window this summer. :hmm:

Should sell them after the WC and then buy up the best of the championship imo

“An estimated loss of £32.5m for 09/10”

So unless the wage bill goes through the roof this summer the £35m we get from the Premier League TV deal should see us breaking even next season. So the plan to 'break even' by 2016 must refer to paying off the various loans the club have?

So when we get relegated we'll still be able to come straight back up

Breaking even has nothing to do with settling loans, it's the point at which we won't be losing money.

the club's PR manager should be hung for this

If only for the crap grammar. I know that it's a small point but, fucking hell, at least know where your commas go; it lends so much credibility.

hard to make much out of that

positive we (kinda, maybe, not so sure) know where we stand

not so positive is the no capital spending thing. That could mean no spending unless we sell first or means we wont spend much and not beyond the means of the club
