You can't have been watching very long. He's bad, but we've had far worse. I haven't been watching Newcastle as long as 99% on here, but I know that I can safely say he's the worst player I've seen play for us in my time. Absolutely no hyperbole either, comfortably the worst. Rozehnal, Cacapa and Butt were worse in recent years, to name but a few. Not defending Smith, cause he was awful today. Nope. He was linked with Everton quite a bit last season. Some fans I know of other clubs do rate him, still think he's an honest pro and all that shit. But your right, we can't get rid of him at all. Even if we were at our bare bones and had to play youth players there, they'd do no worse than he does out there. However, it would be difficult to even let him leave for free because of his wages.
