colinmk
Don't think the tiredness thing is a valid argument for his poor showing considering some of the other players doing it in the world cup.
Fugazi
Surely if Rooney was tired/injured he would have told Capello?

Wullie
Knew he would have another shocker when the rest of the squad were peddling the "he's been amazing in training this week" - Shola-esque.

Mike
Now that his next game is against us, shouldn't we add the word "hopefully" to the title?
Darth Crooks
One too many nike ad's of himself getting knighted gone to his head i reckon. Believe their own hype in the end. Complacency.

Rubbish. He's look knackered since the final day of the season and it's fairly obvious to even the most biased of supporters that he hasn't gotten over the knock he had in May. He worked his backside off every game but just wasn't very effective. Unfortunately for England, Rooney gives that much to his club team during the regular season that he's shattered by the summer. This probably explains why Gerrard looked so lively, as he did bugger all for Liverpool last season.

If thats the case then, Capello should have went for Defoe and Crouch who play together week in week out. And are Pretty handy. Use Rooney as an impact player. Shak
Capello would have been crucified had he left Rooney on the bench tbf.
dcmk
Capello would have been crucified had he left Rooney on the bench tbf. That message doesn't seem to get through to some on this board. If Rooney was sat on the bench and wasn't brought on until the 60th minute and we did indeed lose.. people on this board would be saying 'Should always start with your best player! What the f*** was Capello thinking' ..but everyone is right in hindsight and will always know better then any manager. Ever.

Tooj
http://img685.imageshack.us/img685/5977/allsportrooneydashpolan.jpg He looks less bulky back on this photo - definitely think he's lost a yard or two. Definitely think he's still top class though and if he was at a top continental team his game would come on even further. Although then again, he had more hair back then - so his rapidly receding hairline should make him a bit more streamline. Speed holes if you will.
