Guest neesy111
Keegan would make a great Liverpool manager right now, would be gutted like. He'd certainly create a good atmosphere for the players and fans alike. Would give them a massive lift.
Guest BooBoo
Rafa left Liverpool with a load of very average players. The likes of Lucas, Johnson, Kiriagkos (sp?), Maxi Rodriguez are nowt more than mid level players. Hodgson's buys have been even worse- Poulsen and Konchesky should be pinhcing themselves that they are somehow playing for Liverpool. Lots of scousers were getting over excited with signing Joe Cole, who's predictably produced nothing of real note so far.

Guest Slarth
Chippy and defensive after the game, he ended his press conference in a sharp exchange with a journalist from Scandinavia who questioned the lack of supply to Torres. 'Are you from Denmark?' Hodgson asked (he considers the Danish press too negative). 'No, Norway,' replied the visitor. 'Ah, two countries I never want to work in again,' he said. There was a rather obvious retort but the room was too polite to go there. For now, anyway. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1321356/Martin-Samuel-Now-says-Liverpool-lot-relegated.html?ito=feeds-newsxml#ixzz12fAeSYkV
OzzieMandias
Sounds a bit familiar... Henry, who assured the Liverpool manager, Roy Hodgson, about his future on Saturday and sat beside Steven Gerrard at a lunch with the players, has made it clear that his New England Sports Ventures (NESV) investors will not throw money at Liverpool. But by making Liverpool almost debt-free, while Manchester United face the drain of huge annual interest payments, they believe that it is a realistic aspiration to strive for a title within three seasons. "If the [uefa] Financial Fair Play rules are... not that strong, why was the transfer window down 25 per cent last year?" Henry said. "The clubs have to comply." To make Liverpool compete again, the owners intend to drive up the club's revenues to reinvest in players and have studied the Arsenal model of achieving playing excellence without huge debts or extravagant spending. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/owner-insists-he-will-not-throw-money-at-liverpool-2109459.html

Guest
Two very awkward games coming up for them as well. Blackburn at home isn't what they need the way they're playing, then Bolton away.

It ought to be easier for Liverpool to recover, in that they've still got a good fan base. The question is - how easy it will be to get away from their current position. As we know ourselves, it's more difficult for a big club to get themselves out of trouble than a smaller one. Players are under more pressure and opposition teams raise their game. 9
i wonder how many of these liverpool fans that are calling for Hodgson to be sacked after 8 games were ripping this piss out of us for doing the same thing to a lot worse managers over the last few years. As everyone used to say to us about the likes of Souness, Hodgson needs at least 2 seasons and 4 full transfers windows before you can consider sacking him

Village Idiot
Yep. Arsenal won't win the league again for many years. Indeed, Arsenal do have achieved playing excellence, but - as ManCity is going to prove this or in the following years - to win you have to spend.
