They'll probably put a bid in for Evra.

In a similar vein; the outstanding literallyjamie:

Transfer news; Liverpool announce signing of Darren Bent. In a related story, John Terry announces purchase of Bob Marley CD.

Bent is s a really good player when he's happy but he's got the psyche of a 12 year old girl one little problem and the bottom lip goes and and the tantrums start.

A good goalscorer and that is it.  Even then I think he's not a particularly effective goalscorer against quality defences that don't leave him space to stand in.

Substandard in almost every other aspect of his game.

Cant see them signing bent , goes against everything KD belives in.

Excellent.

I assume Liverpool will have had to have paid in the region of £18-25m?  Hilarious.

£80m on three strikers. One s****, one racist and one black

Edit: and Downing.

Not to mention paying a s***-ton for Hendersen and Charlie Saddam :mackems:

Where was that chart that shows Downing's passing in the City game (90% of them were backward passes)?

Great pass completion and no poor crosses. 20m winger no doubt.

£27m for Bent  :idiot2:

Liverpool seem to be doing things the exact opposite way to us.  We're looking for bargains, value for money and slighlty hidden gems whereas they're just spunking absolute fortunes on every english flavour of the month player without any thought as to how they'll knit with the team philosophy and squad.

If it goes through pundits will be blithering about how smart a signing it is cos he scores fair amount (do rate him as a poacher) etc etc and look over they've spent a load of money for an overrated english player (again) when had they spent some time doing homework they wouldn't need to spend so much money. Is this the same owners who are famous for being smart with statistics in baseball? Seems couldn't be more different here.

Unless it's bollocks.

They weren't the first to use with the idea (SABREmetrics) but quickly adopted the moneyball approach by hiring the guy who originally came up with the system to be in their front office.

(Henry owns the Boston Red Sox.)
