Carroll coud still do a good job for us. If we rule out signing anyone on the basis that they've acted the knob on occasions, then we'll be left with a fairly small pool of players. Admittedly he WAS very good particularly in the second 6 months, but I never rated him before that spell and he's been rubbish since. Which one is the real Carroll? I'd rather us sign players who we're confident can do it and just because Carroll played for us and is local I don't think you can ignore the fact he is still relatively unproven. We've got a large pool of players now who are very likable and they got us 5th. There's simply far too many negatives for Carroll to come back now. His current wages at Liverpool are probably far higher than our current wage structure. 6 - And the most important one - He's not anywhere near as good as either of our front 3.
