biggs
0 IN, 4 OUT We already had a piss weak squad of any quality off the bench never mind before now, hope Jo-kinhere has a game plan when he comes back from Eastbourne
Guest neesy111
If people are moaning about Gosling leaving, then they are just moaning for the sake of it. I'm glad we've got rid of him, shows the club is wanting to ship deadwood from the squad out.
Cajun
Would have been nice to have Simpson as back up but that was never going to happen. Alnwick has been promoted to third choice, Gosling I never even really considered as a squad player tbh. Perch is the only one I think we will miss. I'm glad we've got rid of him, shows the club is wanting to ship deadwood from the squad out. This. Even the home grown excuse is pointless whinging, we dont need to spend £1.5m ish a year on shite like Gosling to fulfill that
LoveItIfWeBeatU
Like I said, it's strange that this story hasn't been reported in any of the papers or websites. With all the rumours that get published you'd think a story reported on SSN would make it onto their website. Having said that, NUFC.com broke the story of Perch leaving. I don't think I'd seen a rumour about that apart from one line saying he could leave on ICNewcastle.

You can't just ship dead wood out if you're not replacing them.

Even the home grown excuse is pointless whinging, we dont need to spend £1.5m ish a year on shite like Gosling to fulfill that Bigi is ready to step up and replace gosling and most of perch's duties. We need another RB if tav isn't considered enough quality to play, although I'd like to see him given his chance there and not as a cb which he clearly isn't. There's a possibility Dummet could make the step up allowing santon to also cover RB. This old be risky, big injury to Debuchy and it puts a strain on the whole rotation, keep him fit and we could see a breakthrough season for Dummet and tav. I'd like to see us go for a young English keeper. Don't think Alnwick is rated enough to be 3rd choice, Krul picked up too many injuries for my liking to effectively have Elliot as our number one for a chunk of the season. He's decent, and made some good saves, but we need better than him, and someone who is going to improve with game time and challenge Krul in a few years time. Think if this goes through our next target to get rid of, minus Jonas who is here till he dies, has to be Shola. Ship him out so we can't bring him on, allowing Campbell to get some game time. We will need to buy a first team striker, but when he's in I want Ameobi out, even if it is just Bent, rotating him and Cisse with Campbell as the 3rd striker without Europa will be enough if we then buy a proper winger and specialise a 5 midfield. Disco
0 IN, 4 OUT 4 players we won't miss. I would agree all 4 aren't great but if Debuchy gets injured we're down to the 'bare bones' straight away.
ChrisMcQuillan
0 IN, 4 OUT 4 players we won't miss. Nonsense. We were glad Harper was still here on a few occasions last season, and Simpson when Debuchy got suspended, and of course we're going to miss Perch if he's not replaced. Gosling's the only one we probably won't feel at all.
Jack Flash
I'd say we are light in CM as the manager will only ever play Cabaye and Tiote there unless they're injured. A winger will be getting more starts there than our other CM's.
Mole_Toonfan
We are covered at fullback...... Santon, Debuchy, Anita and Yanga-Mbiwa can all play at RB. Very well I might add. As for Harper he's been a great servant but he did more harm than good last season. As for Perch his best position is centre mid and we have loads there. We don't have a small squad we lack in 3 to 4 areas but none of these players effect these areas. Just bitching about nothing.
BottledDog
This is clearly a hoax from SSN designed to cause maximum uproar on the streets of Tyneside. Not a peep from them or anywhere else about Gosling this morning.
Dr Venkman
Glad I won't have to watch him anymore tbh.
Dokko
Another good thing about selling perch and gosling is that the club aren't tempted to think we have or can do without replacing Cabaye, or at least less so. Before these two went I saw us selling him and sticking with Anita and having one of those two backing Anita up.
Guest bimpy474
For me there's no reason why Newton or Inman can't take Gosling's place in the first team, or Dummett or Tav can't take Perch's. Bench wise anyway.

Bench wise anyway. +Vuckic. Central midfield is well stocked with Cabaye, Tiote, Anita, Jonas, Bigi, Sissoko and Marveaux. Vuckic, Inman and Newton will be real injury crisis call ups. Still not happy at the prospect of Williamson & Colo against anyone who can break out in anything faster than a brisk walk though. Not sure if Tavernier is up for CB role. Unbelievable
What's the story with Abeid? Was rumoured to be on his way out, but nothing has been confirmed I think. Anyway, another player I'd like to see get some game time before Gosling.

Well i was thinking more Newton (CM/RB/CB) and Dummett (LB/CB) as both can play more than one position if needed. Forgot about Haris actually. Like you say we need a CB, and were desperate for a striker and at least one winger imo.
LRD
Ah, Vuckic. That's one youngster I want to see more of. Shame he's made of glass.
Mole_Toonfan
We need a cb and that had been a case since before Perch was sold. We need a winger We need a attacking midfielder who can provide goals from midfield but again this was the case long before Perch and Gosling were even considered to be sold. And obviously a striker is needed. Those are the 4 signings I would make and absolutely nothing to do with the players we are getting rid of. None of them need replacing and if anything selling perch and gosling is a good thing because Pardew will be forced to use Anita and Bigi more often. Dave
@lee_ryder I understand Dan Gosling's move to #cpfc now subject to two clubs agreeing fee. Gosling just wants to play first team football. #nufc
