Chamakh is REALLY good. Wilshire is playing every week at the moment with Cesc though. I think Arsene is fast tracking Wilshere this season because he knows Cesc won't be there this time next year otherwise I don't think he'd be getting as much game time. He's injuried at the moment, though, so that probably hampered his prospects of getting a contract just yet. He was ill-advised, imho, holding up for an offer from a big club wasn't the wisest move, and he really ain't that good. I hear that ManCity want to trial him again once he comes back.
