Guest gggg
Pointless crying about it until we actually make an acceptable offer. And we don't really know what he wants to do, he's hardly going to tell the papers.
TaylorJ_01
Any French speakers in our squad to help him settle in? Kazenga speaks a bit, more of a Congolese variation though Maybe that's why Hughton isn't keen on loaning him out
Cunning_Linguist
Kaka hit the nail on the head. The best deal possible needs to be negotiated if NU are to buy HBA. Too many times in the past Newcastle have just taken the philosophy of paying the player whatever they want.
Weznufc
found this on a blog more and likely to be crap.. Newcastle United today have been linked with the Marseille midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa. The player is just 23 and is ready to leave his French team to sign for a club in England, most sources saying he is ready to attend a medical for Chris Hughton’s side. TaylorJ_01
Asked about negotiations with Toon, Dassier replied: "We must wait and see what happens. The discussions will continue." Well, he didn't specifically say Newcastle so it could have been fabricated. Very small article.

Dr.Spaceman
For some reason right this moment I can't help but picture Mike Ashley being Ted Dibiase and Chris Hughton as Virgil. I have no idea why. ;D I always imagined Mike Ashley has a Ted Dibiase cackle. Think thats why. Chris Hughton = Virgil? A YES MAN.

Aye. we don't know what was offered or how much they want......................the striking thing is that if it's true he "wants" to come here then it seems contact has already been made with the player re wages etc.
Doctor Zaius
The rumour only broke 6 or so days ago. It feels like weeks! Still refusing to get my hopes up like. By this point I'd normally be brimming with anticipation, a sad indictment of the faith many have in the useless knackers running our club.

They're the German equivalent to Wigan with a bit more money. I suspect they'll be able to offer him bigger wages though

GeordieDazzler
http://madmarcus.football.fr/post/2010/08/04/OM-:-Ben-Arfa-voudrait-rester-si-Niang-s-en-allait-!
QBG
Apart from money, there is no reason why anyone would go to Hoffenheim, they're not in Europe and with Bayern, Leverkusen, Werder, Hamburg etc. They probably won't be next season. Stadium is average, no history, no real fanbase and the squad is decent but would probably be midtable to bottom half in the Prem. Basically if its true then Ben Arfa is right to favour us.
