midds
Curbishley would crash and burn at Villa. Sven would struggle. They're in a bit of a hole atm.
Guest gggg
Sven did pretty much the same as O'Neill in his last club job.
Guest
Really does look like us 2004 doesn't it?
Pilko
Kevin Mac needs relieving asap, as many have said the bloke does not look very well. Even after the win over Everton he looked very grey and exhausted.
Guest Chubby Jason
Bad job for Sven to take if they've got no cash to spend and Villa fans would just turn on Curbishley straight away. I'm struggling to think who would be a good fit for them to be honest.
lovejoy
Really does look like us 2004 doesn't it? Unbelievably so. I thought that when it happened, it's even more so now. We waited for ages for a manger also. And ended up gutted (souness). They'll get the same with curbs IMO.
Guest BooBoo
Bringing back bad memories this. The stunned and aghast sense of disbelief at work when the Souness appointment was announced. *shudder*
lovejoy
I'll never forget that day. Was walking to the shop for a paper, mate rang me and broke the news. Was absoloutely gutted.
brummie
Gerard Houllier. Meh. Infinitely better than Curbishley, and hopefully he'd be working with KM in some capacity. At least we'd have actual European scouts. The entire process has been tainted from the start by that cunt's decision to walk out, taking the five most senior football members of staff with him, four days before the start of the season. Regardless of what he did for us, it was always going to be nigh on impossible to salvage something in those circumstances.

Pilko
They could do better, but as has been mentioned they could do waaaay worse.
Guest Pedro_de_geordieo
MsiDouglas: MacDonald as head coach, Houllier as director of football at avfc? Houllier is excellent but has that set-up EVER worked?
wormy
I'd say it's one of the better options out there right now. Would expect him to at least keep you challenging for the Europa spots.
Dokko
Old bug eyes would be a great manager for them, his team won the champions league after all. Curbs would be a meh move; I'd rather have hughton 10 times over

Big Ron reminds me of Redknapp, not back in coming forward
toontownman
Houllier has been sniffing around for this kind of role for years, fancied it the last three times we needed a manager. You would be better off with Houllier as head coach, his connections and youth grooming skills cant be denied though.

80
Not a fan of his, but all things considered, a good move (depending on how all this is intended to work, of course).
Dr.Spaceman
Didn't think Houllier would want to come back here tbh.
