Dokko
TOON star Cheick Tiote will appear at court after police reported him for motoring offences. Last month the Chronicle revealed how the 24-year-old’s white BMW X6 4x4 was seized because police believed the midfielder did not have an insurance policy for the £60,000 vehicle. Tiote’s car was pulled over in his street on May 11 during a routine patrol in Jesmond. A police source said his car was hauled away after an officer typed his number plate into the police database, which flagged up a problem with the car. Northumbria Police today confirmed that Tiote is due to receive a court summons and will be charged with driving a vehicle with no insurance when he appears at Newcastle Magistrates’ Court. The Ivory Coast international could face a fine, penalty points on his licence or even a driving ban if the allegations are proved. A police spokeswoman said: “On the evening of May 11, a BMW was stopped by officers at an address in Jesmond as part of a routine check. “It was subsequently uplifted because it was suspected the driver didn’t have a policy of insurance for the vehicle. “He was spoken to at the scene and was reported for motoring offences. “The man has now been reported for summons to appear at court at a future date for an offence of no insurance.” The spokeswoman said a court date has not yet been set. Eyewitnesses to the incident claim Tiote spoke with an officer for several minutes before a tow truck arrived and took away his car, which is believed to have a foreign number plate. A resident, who did not wish to be named, said: “There was some police action outside his house, and I saw a big tow truck come along and load his car. “Tiote was with two friends at the time and he kept talking with the officer until his car was taken away. “His friends left after a while, but Tiote stayed until the car was gone. He didn’t look very happy about the situation.” Tiote, known for his tough-tackling approach to the game, was hailed by the Toon Army as one of Newcastle’s best players last season. However, the combative midfielder also led last season’s yellow card table in the league with 14 bookings.

My friends uncle is the police man that stopped him for this, they had to go to his house where supposedly Tiote said that a £15m move to Chelsea had been agreed, most likely bullshit but thought i would share it anyways....
