This is our most important signing because it's finally addressing the thing that sent us down in the first place! Despite me slagging off the idea in your thread, any upgrade on Smith has to be a massive positive. I agree on the upgrade, but it the lack of goals that sent us down really i thought the main reason we went down was because we had a midfield that didn't create, didn't support the forwards, didn't help our defence, didn't score,didn't win possession,didn't retain possession. and just to point out,alan smith isnt a defensive midfielder, he's someone who makes lunges at the opposition from 5 yds in front of his own centre halves....and thats all he does.
