Just picked a random page in the Carroll thread and this post made me laugh a little: Decent player. He needs a goal pretty soon though. I know it's not a lot to base it on, but in the warm-up he was cracking some left-footers into the goal with a lot of power in them. He's got a hell of a shot on him, just needs the confidence to use it. So confidence is the reason he hasn't managed a goal with his feet (with the exception of that tap-in at City) Best locate some confidence soon then, because the other aspects of his game aren't strong enough to justifty selection Its like a whole sentence of contradiction. When Nolan scores, he contributes. When he doesn't score, he's pretty much invisible. I think we'd be much better off if someone like Ben Arfa came in and improved our overall team play since that'll contribute to us creating more chances and controlling more of the ball. I think they sold all rights to Foxsoccer.tv or something. It's (foxsoccer) back up and running, first two weeks were free too. They've got our accrington stanley game on. Have to admit it surprised me when he was standing alongside Heskey, and Heskey didn't seem half as bulky compared to Nolan. Though I think Heskey might have lost some bulk. Nolan was OK, some sloppy lazy passes and sometimes was caught flatfooted when he tried to read the game/passes coming his way, but he did OK when he finally linked with Carroll.
