afar Posted August 22, 2010 Share Posted August 22, 2010 I've been a big supporter of Harper but I have to say he's not started the season too well and was awful in his limited action today. Hughton will stick with him though, for sure, the experience he'll see as being a factor, but I would be tempted to bring in Krul or Forster if things don't improve in the next couple of games. johnnypd Posted August 22, 2010 Share Posted August 22, 2010 Harper's form has been the opposite of Carroll's. Started last season pretty well and progressively became worse and worse. Now he looks out of his depth a division above. What's odd is that he was always really agile and quick off his feet, whereas now he looks a bit cumbersome and leaden footed. Not sure if he's entered a permanent decline or if he's just got into a bit of a rut, but hopefully Krul and Forster breathing down his neck will mean he improves a bit. Not on TV or internet over here, and was running around like mad getting breakfast for the kids, etc. It seemed every time I refreshed we'd scored again. Half expected to learn it was a 3-1 loss when I got back from running some errands, and the thread nothing more than a massive NO joke on those overseas or otherwise not at the match. We manage to defend from midfield area until back line defender. Players keep chase the ball whenever they lose it. Agreed team spirit and work ethic was the best I've seen in a long time.
