Steven Taylor (now retired)

Recommended Posts

Be interesting to see how quick the Taylor brigade defend his inevitable awful performance..... no doubt it will be just as quick as they threw MYM to the scrapheap.

Except this faction exists only in your head. Nobody barring the odd fool is writing Mapou off and even Taylor's biggest fans on here generally think he's pretty average.

If you are going to pick Taylor then MYM will have to go.... MYM and Taylor is one of the worst partnerships in the entire league.

As bad as Coloccini played tonight and Hull arguably, MYM and Taylor are just horrible together.... there is zero understanding, at least with Colo there is a calmness, positional sense ( most of the time) and ability to read the game.

MYM and Taylor just run round like headless chickens all game.

And who advocated that partnership with Colo available? Are you sniffing glue tonight, dude?

The question was asked who should be dropped for Taylor.... there really isn't a option there as that partnership isn't viable.

Its Colo and someone else, until we can get better because as bad Colo has been last couple of weeks the alternative is not worth thinking about.

The biggest problem with Taylor as it has been for the last 3 years and why he isn't in the team currently, his injuries. The guy is always injured and totally unreliable. You simply cannot expect him to be available for most of the season anymore unfortunately.

Looks like he'll be back in the team then if he's taken Yanga-Mbiwa off.

Good.

Is it.   Is this the same Steve Taylor who was given a red card in his last game?

nah, it's  the same one who keeps handing the ball in the penalty area.

At least he clutches his stomach though, so the ref can't give a penalty.

Ian wants Yanga back in the side after what Sturridge did to him last time round.

You're confident Steven Taylor can handle Suarez and Sturridge?

I'm happy to admit I rate Mapou higher than Taylor and Williamson, not sure that should be such an issue.

I don't really fancy any of our four central defenders to do a good job against Suarez and Sturridge.

I think I'd go Colo and MYM regardless. Williamson is far too slow to play against them and Taylor will be rusty.

Sturridge and Suarez are all about movement, pace and ability on the ball.

Don't really want to see Taylor up against all that.

I would go with Mapou and Colo personally.

Aerial balls won't be as much of an issue against Liverpool.

Either way we will still receive a flogging so it really doesn't matter I suppose.

It's not. It's just Colo and Taylor are a proven decent partnership and MYM was absolutely raped by DS last time round.
