Ronaldo
A week ago, Cole scored twice against Fulham. When was the last time Shola scored 2 goals from open play at this level? I can't even remember. doesn't mean a great deal, i've seen many players score braces and have s**** games, i've seen players play very well after months pf being poor then follow it with monre months of beiong poor. what matters is players playing well week in, week out or at leasy playing well a lot more often than they don't. between cole and ameobi over the last few months , there ain't a lot to pick between them. Rubbish. I'd rather pick your withered old frame that let that useless pile of s**** wear B&W again.
Ronaldo
Ameobi is miles ahead of Carlton Cole. Shola can actually head the ball well and is a good finisher on his day, only thing Cole has on Shola is pace. Shola gets far too much stick on here, he's a decent player who has seen his career riddled by injury. People say he was s*** from the start but that is absolute bollocks, I remember a young Shola and Lomana Lua Lua tearing apart Bayer Leverkusen on their own patch. Too many with short memories on here. Probably because it was 8 years ago, and he's never come close to reproducing it since.

Largely because he's spent half his time injured or behind Shearer, Owen, Martins, Viduka etc. The guy has never really had a chance but has scored some important goals for us over the years. Btw Shola's last brace in open play at Prem level that I can remember was against the Mackems 3-2 under Souness. Could be wrong though.
Ronaldo
He's had every chance, man. He's just completely useless.

I know he's credited with it in a lot of places but one of those was a blatant OG
Ronaldo
The second came off Steve Caldwell's head.
Mowen
Was that the season the mackems loved an OG? Didn't they score three for Charlton in one game (or was that a previous relegation season)?

ElDiablo
C Cole puts himself about a lot better and uses his strength and pace more effectively. In the box he's a complete disaster, though, and Shola is much the better finisher.
Ryan_Taylor
Was that the season the mackems loved an OG? Didn't they score three for Charlton in one game (or was that a previous relegation season)? Weren't they all Micheal Proctor?

Foluwashola
Thought Shola was probably the best player on the pitch in the 1st half. Won the majority of headers he challenged for and his touch was actually respectable. Second half he was quieter but he put a shift in and won us the game today

Beren
Quality performance today. Haters gon' hate, obviously - irrespective of what happens on the pitch.
