Will miss Jonas the bloke, absolutely wonderful professional and an example to others about commitment and pride in our shirt. I'll fondly remember him forever, his (rare) epic goal celebrations (Chelsea last year) etc.

Good luck to him, I would love a a situation where he could be applauded off the pitch by the supporters. He's been a hell of a servant to our club- esp during the darkest of times in recent years.

Better than Marveaux.

Give me a f***ing break.

More talented, skillful, or threatening going forward? No.

More consistent with a better workrate and superior defensive ability? Absolutely.

Blame Pards if you want, but Jonas has been far more valuable in is Newcastle career. I'm not willing to completely blame Pards - I think Marv's attitude and application has a lot to do with it, things you could never question about Jonas whether he was playing or not.

 Totally agree for once. Happy he's going from a football point of view but his NUFC career overall has been decent and he's been a good servant. Wish him all the best.

Was never a world beater because he wasted much of his approach work by bad crossing, but he did try to give the club his best efforts which is more than can be said for some...his best work was in the early years at the club.

Inevitable that his time is up now, but basically a good pro and obviously had genuine feeling for the club and the fans. I wish him luck wherever he ends up and hope we get a good replacement.

Now THAT is another story.....

Will always confuse me how he was looking a decent central midfielder for us in that 6 game winning streak in 2012, then was never played there again.  Ask Pards.

He did play there again, albeit sparingly.... Anzhi ( was probably his best performance that season  ) and 2nd half against Spurs on opening game of last season.

Might have been more but i remember those vividly.

Still strange considering that he did look good in that position and its not like we used Anita all that much last season either.

Aye, maybe never again was a bit of an exaggeration but he hardly ever played there again despite it being the only position he'd looked handy in.

Jonas playing loads of games for us on the wing last season. :anguish: Unbelievable really.
