Darth Crooks
All of the above and the fact that obertan and gouffran have about as much to offer as a gastric band salesman in South Sudan.
AyeDubbleYoo
I wouldn't have him as an alternative to Anita necessarily mind, they both know how to pass and move better than anyone else in our squad. Wouldn't mind a midfield 3 of those two and Sissoko.

AyeDubbleYoo
Oh yeah, actually it's quite obvious Gouffran should get the boot.
geordiesteve710
I'd be more than happy to start him as a defensive minded centre mid for the rest of the season and see how he does. Seen more than enough of Colback and Anita, and for some reason Carver doesn't seem to fancy Abeid. Looking energetic for 20 minutes against a tired Arsenal team on it's last legs when you're full of adrenalin is one thing but playing 90 minutes is another so will be interesting to see how he gets on. Would I give him another year? Probably not, but if we can find some mug to give us cash for tiote or anita that can then be used to help fund this years transfer priorities (which must be a new, central defense of proven quality and a proper striker) and he's shown enough to indicate he can be a back-up midfielder for a season then I could be persuaded. Skeletor
Sounds like our club doctors were doing their best Nick Riviera impression again. Thankfully it was still caught early enough. Also no surprises about Pardew. We already know what scum he is.
Guest firetotheworks
Pissed on virtually every right-back? What a load of nonsense that is. Routledge was the only winger pissing on players for us that season. That's not true like. The only right back that got the better of him that season was Perch. He was easily one of our best players, not that I think he'd be any good in the Championship now.
Darth Crooks
He'd be fine in that league. It's all graft and industry. He's just not cut out for regular prem football these days. Just like Williamson never has been and how Ryan Taylor should be a back seater. Jonas and Raylor looked decent last Saturday but they should be nowhere near an automatic starting 11. Sad indictment. Full backs used to shit themselves as some champ coaches inferred as well.
mrmojorisin75
He did well against Arsenal in Anita's place. Always looking up and trying to thread a pass to the front. Anita only passes sideways or losses it most of the time especially against Arsenal. i've been wary of saying this, especially as i'm a vurn fan, but when he took his place last week jonas just looked to have a lot more drive about him in that position like
AyeDubbleYoo
Well they have different games, Anita is never going to be always looking to thread the ball forward. He's not an attacker by instinct like Jonas is.
mrmojorisin75
Yeah I get that, I think it just put vurns limitations into a bit of perspective for me really

Pilko
My recollection of Gutierrez that season was that he was piss poor for the first 10 or so games, then started to perform a lot better and generally did rather well, other than the game against Perch. You not liking him doesn't mean that he's never had his uses. I do like him. And you're the one talking rubbish. He's pretty much a perfect professional and clearly a nice, admirable person. Poor footballer, though. Mostly awful in our relegation season and underwhelming in the Championship. Had a decent time of it from early 2011 to mid '12 when it was basically his function to just protect the full-back and graft through games while the rest of the side put points on the board. Nah. I make absolutely no apologies for thinking attacking players who can't make things happen in the final third aren't very good.
Guest firetotheworks
None of that changes the fact that he wasn't underwhelming in the Championship at all, in fact he was very good that season, as he should be considering the massive drop in quality. Interpolic
Still reckon Jonas' best form for us was playing central in the 433 towards the end of the season we finished 5th. Should have continued there but was inexplicably moved back to the wing the following season.

AyeDubbleYoo
I would probably play him in a midfield 3 for the rest of this season TBH, ideally with Anita and Sissoko.
Ronaldo
Except Colback, as medicore as he often is, is better in almost every area.
AyeDubbleYoo
Except Colback, as medicore as he often is, is better in almost every area. Dunno, Jonas has shown a lot of positivity in the time he's played, and he's beaten a few men with dribbles as well. It's not going to happen anyway I suppose. Disco
Our midfield options are varying levels of shite that waiver slightly by form every now and then like, Sissoko aside. Like all areas of the team/squad it's the Ashley way.
