Alberto2005
That debut was amazing. Probably the last time I can remember being nothing but optimistic about our future We played so well that day. Coloccini looked class and Guthrie was impressive as well.
Mowen
Almost certainly the right decision from a footballing perspective. Him coming on against Man U and scoring last weekend are two of the most enjoyable moments I've had following football in a long time though. All the best Jonas. CaliMag
I am not sure this was a footballing decision. If Jonas was our best player and had his best years ahead of him I would predict he still would have been released. His public criticism of Ashley and the management of NUFC made him surplus to requirements more than his footballing ability.
Pilko
There is something a bit wrong feeling about a player keeping you up & then getting rid. He probably wasnt good enough, but we are allowed to have a squad. Could've offered him another year on a lesser wage, would've been a nice gesture. Not that we need numbers as we never get injuries & always replace the numbers we let go. Best one I can remember is David Unsworth coming off the bench for Wigan, keeping them up in their first PL season with a penalty, relegating Sheffield United where he'd just left a few months previous, then getting released about two days later. As for Jonas; right choice to release him but what a guy. Great service to the club and maximum effort always, regardless of his performance level. toontownman
Bittersweet, we all know he is not good enough, yet he played better than most in the end. Truly lovely guy by the sounds of things and a cult hero. Deserves to be playing at the end of the day.. will be forever welcomed back at SJP. Tachikoma
I know its probably the right decision for footballing reasons, but god I hate this club.
Memphis
Wonderful guy by all accounts. True character. Seemed to genuinely "get it". Very few like him. Regardless of his footballing ability, very sad that he's no longer part of the club.
nufcjb
Depressing that we actually offered a contract to Sammy instead of this guy. What a Legend he is for the club. You have been my favourite player here since you joined Jonas and I will follow you wherever you turn up next. Hope you don't sign for another Premier League club because I know you can still outperform the cunts we have here. All the best and please come back as a fan one day! Ronaldo
Releasing him is for the best. I hope he can play a couple more years in Argentina.
LooneyToonArmy
Despite both Taylor and Jonas not played much they will be a big miss in the dressing room. Not many characters left, if any.
Ronaldo
Ryan Taylor: Big Character.
Raconteur
He came in via the Webster rule, had a class debut at Old Trafford, tore the league apart with Enrique, helped us to 5th, began to fade, said funny stuff in a video, got ill, was bullied by Pardew, beat cancer, then kept us in the Premier League in one of my favourite ever moments Genuinely one of the nicest footballers you could ever meet. He'll be missed. Sums it right up Played with more heart than just about anyone as we looked into the abyss. One of the very few men of character we have (had ) at the club
St1pe
He had a poor couple of seasons before this one but given how he reinvigorated the team since he's come back I think he deserved another year. We lack leaders on the pitch and most likely in the dressing room, I think we'll only be worse off for not having him next season given the team will going through a transition with a new manager... hopefully. He's always been such a likeable character though, I hope he gets a good move somewhere.

EthiGeordie
If they are serious to move forward they should cancel Williamson and S Taylor remaining one year contract and put us in rejoice.
Ronaldo
Contracts of Taylor, Williamson and Coloccini all expire in a year. Interesting.
Guest chopey
In fact they made Carver do it. @PeteGravesSky @elgalgojonas & @TaylorR1984 together in Belfast doing coaching badges. Got call from JC today, first they'd heard about futures. #nufc 1/2 Classy. Speechless.. Charnley is the biggest danger for our future he's a fucking secretary that can't make decisions because he is shit scared he gets it wrong. He stuck with Carver because he never had the no-how or gumption to find someone better and now he can't even tell the players face to face that their contracts will not be renewed, he just gets his bulldog to do it for him. You are right. He seems terrified to make a decision. You hear of other clubs planning ahead like Southampton who are constantly reviewing a list of potential managers and monitoring them so should the need arise, they know exactly who they would be going for. Wallace
Interesting that Jonas is doing his coaching badges. It would have made sense to keep him on as a squad players and have him at the club as a mentor and coach for the youngsters. What a character to have as an example. And Ashley, Charnley and co are a bunch of cowards - always getting someone else to do their dirty work. Never seem to be able to do things face to face. geordiesteve710
Think we've made a mistake releasing him. He's shown enough since returning to suggest he's capable of being a member of a squad that is without doubt going to be short of numbers and quality next season. Thats before considering the positive influence and experience he will offer. Spot on,( with slight addition. ) We shouldn't be in a situation where keeping Jonas has much attraction. Unfortunately and disgracefully we are, due to mismanagement of the club. Seems stupid to get shot of the one player who has shown bottle, effort and anything approaching skill for months now. As we are so allergic to signing players, it begs the question who the fuck is going to play for us next season?!?

Danh1
Jonas is leaving on a good note, he has just put in an unreal performance that has saved the club from potential relegation, he is the talk of the town and loved by pretty much 99% of the fans. Two years down the line he'd be known as a huge weak link in the team and people would be relieved that he's leaving. I fucking hate the club, despise everything we've became but despite that I think Jonas leaving is the right decision for him and for the club. He won't be replaced though and we will still be fucking shite but oh well.
