The only crumb of comfort for me was that our fans were shaking hands with him and wishing him the best - we, and he all know that this decision is a complete travesty. Chris gave back this club it's dignity and took us to where we are now in the premier league (which is quite decent and if we survive we could build) with a pathetic budget and and Ashley sacks him. Thank you for letting me witness a season unbeaten at home. Thank you for the demolition of the mackems! You will live long in our memories for that alone. Thank you for Everton, Chelsea in the league cup, Aston Villa at home and Arsenal qt the Emirates. Thank you for getting rid of the money obsessed, lazy, over-confident idiots and taking a group of lads who wanted to get Newcastle back up and forging a strong, close knitted team out of them.
