Has done well so far - barring the FA Cup match we won the games we were expected to and could easily have gotten something against Citeh and more against the Mackems and Spurs

Though he still talks some shite - his comment after the game that "we had a lot of squad players in the team today", did we????? I think not

Won't come far with Ashley i the Casino playing away almost a million £ just for laughs instead of bringing money into the transfer window.

WTF? :kasper: he took NUFC money into the casino and wasted it?!

I won't make a proper judgment on Pardew until I see the type of players he signs in summer.

So far, you can't really say he's done anything drastically wrong apart from using Tiote at Stevenage and some other of his selections in that game. He is willing to make substitutions far more readily than Hughton did and results have been OK bearing in mind the loss of key players.

Not thinking about Hughton - he's gone, he did a decent job in difficult circumstances but we have to get on with it now.

Guthrie, Best, Williamson, Perch, Lovenkrands all featured. And I'm sure he considers Williamson a squad player, because he seems to like Saylor

Seems more keen than any of our past managers to send the kids out on loan which is good.

Thankfully its finally happening, god knows how many careers we've interrupted hanging on to kids not giving them game experience.

Also feel 100% more confidence in winning our home games under Pardew than Hughton. Still feel like he'll get no real money off Ashley any time soon though, and that was my hope for the change being made.

exactly the same, was weird having followed the toon 20 years to see a manager (Hughton) where i was more confident of getting results away than i was at home...even more confident than under KK or SBR

I am pleased with his abilities on the pitch

This transfer business and his comments are getting a bit tiresome. I suppose ill be in a better position to judge him next Tuesday

Very clever, if somewhat harsh :)

Tend to agree that a better judgement can be made on Tuesday. A failure to bring in anyone would be a black mark against him considering what he's said all month.

If he brings nothing in, who do you really think failed, because it ain't him.

I would be annoyed as he's spent all month telling us how confident he was of bringing new players in. Of course it's not him negotiating but it is him communicating with the fans and all month we've heard positive noises about incoming transfers.

I've slagged him a lot since he came here but if this happened I'd be inclined to think they bullshitted him. They have previous.

Although no one has actually been signed yet I am encouraged by the type of players he seems to be looking at. Ireland is a flair player and Pardew has done his bit to get HBA signed up permanently. We have a hard working honest squad at the moment, Pardew has to use a limited budget to improve the quality which will go a long way to giving him some real credibility.

That can't be ruled out. I stupidly thought that as Pards was the first manager who Ashley et al seemed to support, I thought this would be reflected in the transfer market. So far, that doesn't seem to be the case.

Oh well, no point getting wound up yet. It's daft how much seems to happen in the last few days.

'When you look at it only Manchester City and Aston Villa have spent more this window, with many clubs using the loan market'

Referring to HBA capture

I can hear him saying it now :(
