“On behalf of everyone at Newcastle United, we were horrified to hear of the tragedy in Norway and the senseless loss of innocent life.

“Our thoughts go out to the families and friends of all the victims, especially to those of Tore Eikeland who we know was a huge supporter of Newcastle United and a keen contributor to a Norwegian NUFC fans website.

“The players, coaching staff and everyone associated with the club send our heartfelt condolences to the Eikeland family and all those who lost a loved one that day.”

Jose Enrique isn’t the first player to complain of a lack of ambition at United. Joey Barton did something similar only a few months ago. It is the stuff of every United related conversation on Tyneside.

Why is Barton so desperate for a new contract if we lack ambition?

As it stands at the minute we could be 2 or 3 injuries (Colo, Barton & Ba) away from a relegation battle, scary

Barton's a good player, but he's not that good, man. Tiote is ten times more important.

It's a shame that we've started four seasons in a row with bullshit. Firstly it was the actual takeover. Then it was the KK stuff. Then it was last year's fiasco, and now this season with Barton, Nolan and Enrique.

What happened last summer again?

I recall there was a lot of fuss about signing a striker and a lot of worry about a lack of investment believed to be required to stay in the league.
