TBG
As the build-up for the game with the Gunners continued, Carver said: “We have nine games. We are going into the next one is Arsenal at home. “You know what our group of players are like. They don’t need to be motivated for Arsenal at home.” Newcastle have beaten the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Man City this season but they have slipped up in games like Sunderland and Everton away and dropped points at home to Hull, Crystal Palace and Burnley. Carver said: “We have spoken about it and how it shouldn’t be the way. “It shouldn’t matter if you play the top or the bottom of the league you should prepare yourselves in the right manner for any game. Except when you're playing against a team you're not expected to beat, then it's a free game.

Mick
Carver is a moron, he said that he didn't understand why we played better with 10 men than 11. Did he not think that maybe Everton had the game in the bag when we went down to 10 and had played on Thursday and didn't need to do anything else, he's got shit for brains. Hasn't he admitted a couple of times before that he's had no idea what was going on on the pitch. This one doesn't come much as a surprise then. Interpolic
We don't do any better against big sides than the usual midtable outfit, it's a myth. For him to say that with a straight face after we could have been beaten by any score Man City wanted a few weeks ago tells you everything you need to know about this guy. Pardew has taught Carver loads about self promotion and self preservation and it's clear to see. Won't be rid of the former before we're rid of the latter. I'm sure he knows the answers, he makes them out to be beyond comprehension because it allows him to avoid having to explain anything.

That, plus we had two players on by then who can actually handle a football.
Mick
That, plus we had two players on by then who can actually handle a football. He can't mention the two players, that leads to the question "Why didn't you start them."
Guest Roger Kint
Just been on the Chronicle site, one journo is telling us we have the worst defence in the league based on the last 6 games. Unsure why this idiot has only just worked this out seeing as we concede about 60 a season mind. Click on the next story and Bernard is saying Carver has made us more defensive. Bizarrely the Chron staff cant link these two stories at all.......
