"I have never thrown the towel anywhere, and I won’t do it here."

Liar. You resigned from Toronto.

 He probably forgot.

'Listen. Let me finish...in the UK...in the last 18 months...and I didn't say thrown IN the towel. I just have never thrown a towel. They taste too good. Licky la vida loca...schlurp!'

JOHN Carver has hit back at pundit Phil Neville after he accused Newcastle United’s players of playing with their ‘flip flops on’ at Everton last week.

Neville made the comments on BBC highlights show Match of the Day 2 on Sunday, and said Newcastle’s players appeared to already be ‘on their holidays’ during the 3-0 defeat.

Carver found the former Manchester United and Everton midfielder’s comments ‘insulting’, and says his squad will use them as motivation heading into Saturday’s game against Arsenal at St James’s Park.

The Newcastle head coach said: “I was pretty angry when I heard it, because he couldn’t be any further from the truth.

“I think it’s insulting and I think it’s wrong, especially from ex-players.

“I’m sure if they were playing now they wouldn’t like the comments, as I didn’t.

“What I did do was inform the players about what these people had been saying. I thought it was important that they knew.

“Now it’s down to ourselves to show those people out there that we’ve not got our flip flops on – although we might today, because it’s sunny!”

He has to respond, he had no choice.

He would have been better off admitting they didnt bother rather than making it sound like he was completely shit at his job and the players are rubbish under him

The best way to describe him is as a Pardew Wannabe, and I can't pay him a lower insult than that, except maybe cunt, which he also is.

Good job Carver told the players, why would they watch MoTD?  Anyway, it's hardly an insult, it's true.
