I don't get these full-contract payoffs at all. I mean, I have a contract but it has loads of clauses where they can terminate my ass if I'm absolutely rubbish at my job.

Yeah, football contracts are guaranteed over here too. I don't get how it came to this, since it means people can just scratch their balls on the back of a multi-year multi-million contract that has to be paid in full no matter what. I wish I had that in my job too.

power with the players/managers if they're wanted when the contracts are dished out innit

Difficult to quantify  in football and it's industry standard seemingly

We've won 3 times this year, it's not that hard to quantify.

Feels like the fumigation is virtually complete to finally rid us of the contamination of the club by Pardew and his incompetent coaches. The era is over, well almost, when the useless Woodman goes to Palace. What's this about Clark as number 2? Not that useless alleged piss artist Lee Clark? Please No. We don't want any more chest thumping ex player useless geordie boys proclaiming their love of the club and asking gizza job cos a luv the Toon me. Let's try and think outside the box and get someone competent

I'll never understand anyone even mentioning that "he loves the club"...It's completely irrelevant. The fans all love the club but you wouldn't dream of putting one in charge. That and the fact that he was quite happy to cling onto something that his weight alone was causing to sink. It's all bullshit, the chest beating local lad stuff massively winds me up.

Passion doesn't really help if your team is packed with mercenaries.

The important think is players who are ruthlessly competitive and committed to the game itself, rather than NUFC specifically. For those players it shouldn't matter who they play for.

Give mercenaries Carver's passion.

So, leaves by mutual consent then according to the club. The horrible twat were probably licking Ashley's hoop while being told that he had to agree to the resignation or they'd be far more ruthless in their club statement.

You know how the Nazi's liked their aryans to be blone haired and blue eyes? Well if there was a Geordie "ideal", it would be Carver.

This one in particular is incredibly unfortunate.

I wanted Eric Steele to come here. Finding De Gea and all. We kept Woodman either to keep his highly sought ed son or to get some money from Palace eventually.

WAT.

He meant "Finding Nemo".

in all of our defences, he had previously been associated with Sir Bobby (and don't we know it now the amount of times he has reminded us) which was an extremely happy and good time to support NUFC and evoked great memories. if we had known what a complete stooge and muppet he was going to be so many positive things wouldn't have been written. I tihnk it's now obvious that he was just a buffer between Sir Bobby and the players and no more than a bib and cone man. he managed to hoodwink many others into believing he had far more of an input than he actually had looking back imo. hindsight is a wonderful thing

:spit:

De Gea was already one of the best keepers in Europe before he joined Man United, he was highly sought after by both Real Madrid and Barca and was starting for Atletico f***ing Madrid.

Found my arse.

Only the 100 or so games for Atletico/B side/Spanish under 21's. How could anyone else have seen him except Steele

He saw and identify him 3 years before he joins Manchester. He didn't scout him when he plays for Athletico.
