Newcastle United 4 - 4 Arsenal - 05/02/11 - post match reaction from page 32

This is exactly what the people who were against selling Carroll feared, it wasn't just the act of exchanging a player for money, it represented much more than that, with Carroll we were a club with potential, moving forward with ambition, with a mixed group of players, some of whom are of a higher calibre than we can reasonably expect to have at the club based on the last 3-4 years, by selling him the club has made a message (intended or not) that goes against all of that, and its knocked the stuffing out of what was at the core of our relative acheivements this season. The worst bit of all is that i dont think Mike and co realised it, at face value it was a reasonable exchange, but in terms of a football exchange  :idiot2:

Can't wait to see what Pardew has to say after the game like

"Well, you face an uphill task when you give away 2 goals in the first ten minutes, especially against an Arsenal side in fantastic form let's not forget with weapons that can really hurt you..."

Bog-standard early collapse manager speech.

Yup.

I can imagine Pardew going absolutely mental at half time and saying "if you don't want to be here, you may as well leave now" and then being left in a room with just Best who says "sorry boss wasn't listening"

I can't believe people think this is down to Carroll leaving. Please don't be daft.

Today's result is what happens when you play a hapless slob in midfield against legitimate top class athletes with speed and mobility and ability with the ball. I bet the Arsenal players can't believe how easy it is bypassing our midfield. Just avoid tiote and your scott free!
