Guest sicko2ndbest
There's no way that much activity would happen. Also, you missed off a negative value from the options. 2007 suggests that level of activity can and has happened
Mike
I vote Summer 2009.
biggs
If what we are to believe all the money from the Carroll sale is to be reinvested in the purchase of new players i would guess 20 million on players and the rest on fees and wages but this is Ashley we are dealing with here so anything can happen ,with Ben Arfa ,Gosling to come back and a replacement for Casholl to come in so i would guess 3 signings in the summer . Si
Looking at the forwards we've brought in Xisco and Luque et al who was the last decent forward we signed rather than developed?
Guest guinness_fiend
I am hoping for three/four new players (sensible and wallet-friendly purchases), plus replacements for anyone who exits (in the event that Tiote and Enrique are snaffled by one of the Big 3 + 2 ). Mick
There seems to be some descrepencies as to whether the Carroll fee will be re-invested as solely transfer fees or a combination of fees and wages. There's no discrepancy. http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Newcastle-Andy-Carroll-sale-Andy-Pardew-admits-players-disillusioned-disappointed-but-says-35m-fee-will-be-spent-on-new-faces-article687347.html The fee is enormous. I have had no chance to spend it. We have to make sure we spend it correctly in the summer. There will be £35m available and all of it will be spent, but it would be on fees and wages. If we're spending on fee's and wages then our net spend will be a negative. Even if we spend £35 million on fee's and wages we'll save money as we would have had to pay Carroll a wage. Guest BooBoo
I expect either Enrique or Tiote to go for £8-10 million and we'll spend around £10 million. We'll no doubt be scouring the globe for freebie transfers like Gosling. The Carroll money will most likely vanish into fat air.

SEA Mag
I put > 35 million :celb: Blind optimism, and it would be fun if we could really spend that cash. I think the economic crisis as well as relegation has hit Ashley hard so he didn't spend too much for the past 2 years, but seeing that the economy is picking up and we are back im the Premiership I'm guessing we would go back to the 2007 levels of (decent) spending again!!!
