Newcastle United 1 - 1 Bolton - 26/02/11 - post match reaction from page 17

Difficult not to be a little bit irked after that.

- Had enough chances to win 2 games, first half (after the two recent 1-1s where we had things wrapped up, this particularly annoying)

- Lovenkrands started over Ranger

- Raylor's moronic challenge

- Wanted revenge for earlier this season where we didn't give a good account of ourselves

Can't fault the effort of the players or anything, but still a bit bitter about only getting a point! Maybe high expectations on my part, but after cutting through them so often and so easily in the first half...

The subs change the game to our advantage. We owned the first half and should have led with three-four goals. Loven and Best were both sharp in the first half, but ran out of energy in the second. So many margins that went against us today that stopped us from getting all three points: Barton's injury, a shitload of missed chances and Colo's avoidable pass and Taylor's idiotic tackle. I think Williamson was our best defender today. Tiote class as always. Absolutely satisfied with one point after the red. Too bad Ranger was cm offside. Was much closer than I thought it was.

This season, could've easily been 6th.

Dropped points twice against Blackburn. 3-4 points

Dropped poins to Sunderland away. 2points

Dropped points to Tottenham at home. 2points

That's loads of points.

Also lost to Blackpool and Stoke at St James.

What a daft post.
