Dave
How do you feel after signing your new contract, Graham? And how did it come about? To be honest, it was quite a shock really. I got a phone call from Derek Llambias who asked if I was available to come and meet Mike (Ashley). We had a chat for three or four hours about everything on our side, the scouting side, and then I met Mike again the next day for a couple of hours. We spent a couple of days talking about our targets, which had been discussed previously with Alan (Pardew). Alan had identified the players we're after and for Mike, who's a busy man, it was a great opportunity for us to get together and talk about them. And when I got offered the contract, I signed there and then. We were just discussing players and suddenly, out of nothing, he told me what he was going to offer me. I like working for him so it didn't matter if it was one year or 20 years. I just like working for Newcastle - but it came as a real surprise. Really promising stuff with regards to the bigger picture.

Guest Howaythetoon
He is arguably the most important part of the new Newcastle United if you like, even more important than the manager. He is pretty much our recruitment guru and key to our success in that area.

Sifu
Just seen this, what fantastic news. The man deserves the long contract and is one of the reasons why we've been so successful this last season or so (with regards to player recruitment and identifying quality players who could be signed on the cheap, of course). The scouting network he's implemented is simply brilliant and one which I have the utmost trust in.

Based on the signings I suppose MA is obviously the most important as he is the kingmaker, but GC is a very important cog

Sifu
Great news but hope he lowers his profile... Talks a little freely for my liking... He's not really in the media limelight as such. I still, to this day, have no idea what he sounds like. It's only because we've done so well this season that he's been receiving a lot of credit/attention from the media (and deservedly so btw).
