Interpolic
Reading about that fans' award: Liverpool fans are outstanding at online polls. magorific
I've seen him a few times this season and while he's been better than the s**** around him he's never been "phenomenal" as Oscar said. He's the midfielder of choice for daft twats who believe that Barca would struggle with the physicality of the English game and that the Premier League is the best in the world. Old fashioned player from the south and consequently he's bummed by the London media. We're a whole ten places ahead of them but Scott Parker wouldn't get into our strongest starting XI and I'd challenge anyone to say otherwise. I say otherwise. I'd have him in ahead of Nolan and let him do what he does best - work box to box - with Tiote as holding midfielder. That's with Ben Arfa tucked in behind Shola. The refusal of people on here to accept that Parker has been superb this season is beyond embarrassing.
The Prophet
The way he's at times carried his side to almost certain relegation deserves an award.
Keefaz
The way he's at times carried his side to almost certain relegation deserves an award. ponsaelius
The refusal of people on here to accept that Parker has been superb this season is beyond embarrassing. It's not though. He's an above average player playing in an utterly dross side. It's just typical of the attitude in this country to give the award to a player that works hard and is 'committed' instead of players who have actual quality and ability to play at the top level. He's not a bad player technically, he's quite good, but he's nowhere near the best player in the league and hasn't been this season. Did you watch the two games inwhich we played West Ham? Both games he was anonymous and was outplayed and out-fought by our midfield. These games are not exceptions to the norm, this is his level for the majority of the season. He has a few moments of quality and is more committed than his teammates and this exaggerates his ability level. Couple this with a squeaky clean reputation, his nationality and the fact he plays for a Laandan club and bang - Player of the bastard Year.
Hanshithispantz
So i'm guessing... La Liga Footballer of the Year: Lionel Messi/Cristiano Ronaldo/Xavi Hernandez Premiership Footballer of the Year: Scott Parker/Raul Mierelles/Gareth Bale

Neil
The way he's at times carried his side to almost certain relegation deserves an award. People have said Charlie Adam should've been in with a shout: but isn't it exactly the same situation? Adam deserves praise for some of his performances this year. He's certainly been a shining light but far from the best in the league. Parker has obviously been given it because people are still shocked that poor teams can have the odd good player in them - as opposed to the player in question actually being of sufficient quality to earn the "best in the league" award. I think Parker is pretty good overall but the fact he plays for West Ham apparently makes him better in some way, which is of course rubbish. You should be given this award because you've produced outstanding performances in your own right, not because you've happened to be been better than utter dross around you. JH
I maintain, put him in a comfortable mid-table side like us or Fulham/Stoke and nobody would be talking about him. Says it all really.
