The table just looks so different, despite it being only 3 place difference, the 'live tables' showing us in 9th, looked like a great season for us.

It was a great season for us. Most people had us pegged for relegation at the start, remember? Disappointing end, granted, but 12th place is still an achievement.

Very true, but when 9th place was in sight, and should have easily been achieved today, it is a little disappointing. Like you say, on the whole, a very good season for us.

We just can't beat these fuckers, can we?

Well well, bit of a come back, still probably the result most of us expected before the game, boing boing, see you next season!

Didn't see any of the game, annoying to lose a 3 goal lead but meh whatever. Mackems will have their fun finishing above us but we've had a great season and it means nothing really.

Pathetic stuff...each player deserves a slap to the face!

We now have finished the season below Sunderland. FFS.

Having been on the right end of a big comeback, it's a fitting end to another bonkers NUFC season, that we end up being on the wrong end of one.

Bit of a pisser but doesn't spoil what has, in reality, been a decent first season back.

Aye, in the end 12th is decent enough with our squad. But then again, 2 minutes away from 9th :(

I was admittedly watching 4 games at once today, but Simpson's defending recently has become very concerning after looking distinctly solid after displacing Perch in the side.

The only positive from this game is that it all but confirms without any doubt that the players deemed as 'backups' or on the fringes of the squad are not good enough. No way in hell will the club consider Smith an option anymore, he secured his fate today.

As disappointing as today is, we need to keep a sense of perspective. It's been a very decent return season to the PL and we have plenty to build on. Got to get rid of the dead wood in the summer though (it's a must) Let the mackems enjoy their moment in the sun - remind them they were supposed to be aiming for Europe at Christmas. If they are cock-a-hoop finishing about a newly promoted side then it shows how hard up they are.

He backs off way too much, has been doing it all season

Tbh, we were lucky this didn't happen against Birmingham a couple of weeks ago. We completely let them back into the game after going 2-0 up. Obviously something needs fixing in defence as we become very, very lax when in front against teams (more so at home).
