Other clubs' transfers

Some interesting details emerging from that €8,5m deal that brought goalkeeper Roberto to Zaragoza (who are in administration). According to "El País" the club hasn't bought the player, but an investment fund that has Jorge Mendes (agent of Mou and Cronaldo, among others) and Peter Kenyon among its members. The fund in turn is loaning him to Zaragoza for around €400k.

Roberto was highly rated, but has had a couple horrid years. I guess they are banking on him to raise in value and sell him again.

Isn't that a bit like MSI and Mascherano/Tévez?

EDIT: As I post this the Portuguese trading authority has suspended Benfica's shares until they fully disclose the details of the transfer.

Leicester have bid £7m for Long.

How the hell can clubs like Leicester bid £7m for a player?

Pesky Asian owners.

See Swansea have completed the signing of Leroy Lita. Asking for relegation there like.

Really want Danny Graham to succeed this year but it will be difficult with that nincompoop next to him.

It was just a preseason friendly, granted, but Leicester made a very good show against Real Madrid the other day.

Atlético in talks with Wolfsburg regarding Diego. Either a loan with a buyout clause or a straight transfer. His wages are the biggest stumbling block.

Anybody know anything about this guy?

"Arsenal have expressed an interest in signing Real Madrid's 16-year-old midfielder Jose Rodriguez. The teenager, who turns 17 in December when, under Premier League rules, he would be allowed to sign a professional contract, was part of the Madrid team that played in an Under-17s world club championship last month, when he was scouted by Arsenal's Spanish scout Francisco Cagigao."

Their ratings are a bit silly; Inter haven't done anything massively spectacular, but they've been a bit harsh - Nagatomo for instance, very solid signing.
