We have released Gaby Milito, who'll go to Independiente.

Probably do alright back in Argentina. Last time he was there they won the league too. They're liable to be fending off the relegation spots this season (if relegation is still taking place)

Any new CBs in the frame? or just trust Fontas?

If we sign a new defender it will probably be an LB (so Abidal can cover CB and to cover Abidal himself). I hope we do but it will hinge on how much we pay for Cesc.

Is that last bit referring to that bizarre new league system they've adopted?

It sounds just plain, well, yeah, bizarre.

It's been binned for the time being as far as I'm aware but aye it's a farce. I don't know whether it happened in the end but I think there was planned large scale protest before Grondona and AFA backed down and changed it.

I assume it's just gone back to the same system as last season but I'm not 100%. That system is hard enough to keep up to date with it since the relegations are over a 3 season point average which has its obvious many flaws but it does have a positive in that in theory no games are pointless as you're always playing to boots your points average.

There was talk of a new Copa Argentina too, I think thats going ahead though although I don't know in what format.

Fucking hard work tbh although last season was class so I'm going to persist with the following of it.

No loan now, pay later deals you could strike up a la Boateng at Milan?

Bartley to Rangers loan deal is done, hopefully (could be blind optimism) a CB signing is inevitable!

I think he was loaned to Rangers secound part of last season  ???

Bougherra was linked with club from Qatar, if he leave Bartley would be replacement for him...

Harry Forrester ex Watford, came to us, was released by us last season (interesting lifestyle, by all accounts) has turned down Ajax.

For Brentford.

Apparently, though, with good reason. His mom is extremely ill and Ajax wouldnt let him travel back once a week. Fair play to him.

We already dipped in future season`s budgets in order to finance Cesc´s bid, don't think the board is willing to do it further. Of course, if we don´t land him that could change. But I really can´t see him staying at Arsenal after all what´s gone down.

What I don´t understand is why we didn´t buy Botía back. He´s developing nicely and would have been great CB cover. But well, let´s hope Fontàs will make the step up (I think he's decent, but not ready to be thrown into big games). I suspect Mascherano will have more gametime as CB that as DM.

And he was going to be at Jong Ajax, rather than Ajax, initially...

Yes he did play for the last half of the season for Rangers but got an injury that kept him out for a while at the end. He played quite a bit at CM hopefully this year he will be at CB!

Canales has completed his 2 year loan transfer to Valencia. They will have a buyout clause of €12m the first season and €15m the next, and Madrid a buyback clause of €2m more than Valencia paid.

Great deal for everyone involved, I think.

Also, as in every Real Madrid loan since Valdo tore them a new one years ago while on loan, he won't be able to play against Real Madrid.

So have River Plate managed to *cough* negotiate their way out of relegation?
