Tiresias
I don't believe a f***ing word of that Chronicle bullshit. If Cabaye has refused to play, the club will fine him the two week maximum and make it public. If they don't and so far they haven't as far as we know, it's because there is another reason why he's not playing. I dont think they're fining him because Arsenal haven't comeback in, and i dont think they will now. I reckon rather than burn bridges with him, they will let him sit it out until the window slams shut (if he isn't sold). Then bring him back into the squad. Just imo like. Seems plausible, but imo if this IS the case Pardew should be saying it's his decision a lot to take the edge off fans turning on Cabaye.
r0cafella
IF this is true (something more than "the chronicle understands" would be good then Cabaye is a disgrace and should be transfer listed at the value of 20million pounds and be left to rot. themanupstairs
No chance he's outright refused to play. He would have put in a transfer request IMO. Something has gone on behind the scenes, or he's just being saved anticipating his sale.

Pardew hasn't said it's Cabayes fault either tbf, he batted the question away when asked so far. I think the Chronicle are having a decent guess. Although with the way Ashley works, you wouldn't be surprised if the Chronicle got a little inside info.
Tiresias
Here is what happened, what the club say Cabaye said: "I refuse to play" What he actually said : "I refuse to play your stupid longball, when I play tomorrow I will pass the ball along the floor a lot, I will try and move intelligently and I will try and score a goal" Pardew: "f*** off I'm selling you to arsenal"

Deuce
This situation needs to be resolved quickly, one way or another. Can't have it hanging over the club.
Skirge
Its a fucked up situation no matter who is at fault, there is such a bad feeling among the fans towards the owner and manager that a lot refuse to believe a player could be at fault in any way and it has to be Pardew who is to blame its all a big conspiracy to cash in on Cabaye blah blah blah. Having said that it is a reasonable reaction as nothing would surprise us the way this club is ran, either way even if there had been no bids for Yo I can see this becoming an issue with a lot more of the squad the longer this shambolic transfer shite carries on window after window. We are not showing enough ambition for these players to want to remain here, fkn hell a lot of fans are giving up on the club the way things are. r0cafella
Cabaye should just put out a statement at this stage stating what his intentions are.
ED209
Its absurd, whats the point in having a contract if you can just say fuck it I am not playing. In any other walk of life you would be sacked for refusing to work/turn up to work.
Dave
Cabaye should just put out a statement at this stage stating what his intentions are. Assuming the club have told the Chronicle this, I would imagine he'll want to have his say quite soon. Pretty strong allegation.

Ronaldo
This could have been our captain this year. Our actual captain tried his very best to bugger off in the last window. The club's recruitment policy looks an even bigger farce if these 'men' are the ones displaying the strongest leadership qualities.
Mick
It's time people stopped thinking of players as 'heroes'. They are employees. 99.99% of them would leave for more money, a club playing in Europe, a club in a country/part of a country they'd like to live, etc. Nobody sang "Don't sell Cabaye" today at the match. With hindsight it's a shame we didn't sell him before the start of last season going by how he performed last season. Yes they did.

There isn't 1 player in this squad I'd want leading us out in a friendly never mind a cup final.

He was told when we he signed we'd be: Playing attractive football challenging for europe We haven't kept our end of the bargain so why would he keep his? midds
If he's refusing to play then the club should be refusing to pay him imo. It's a big 'if' though as we know the spin and lies that come out of this club. Suppose it's beyond the realms of possibility for him to submit a transfer request if he's that unhappy though? Thought not...
Guest H09
The club used the same dirty tricks when Carroll was going. Must divert attention onto player through mouth piece.
