Andybiotics
Losing Cabaye the day before the derby would be horrific. Was dreading the game to begin with, but if Cabaye goes it'll be another embarrassing 3-0 loss.

Was dreading the game to begin with, but if Cabaye goes it'll be another embarrassing 3-0 loss. And you just know he will play 4-4-2 with Shola in for Cabaye if it does happen. If/When Cabaye does go this window he will have to play Marveaux there because nobody else can play that position unless he takes a chance on Bigirimana, or puts Ben Arfa right and shifts Sissoko central

It would be awful and he would do something completely stupid I reckon. I already think he will start Shola in place of Anita if Cabaye stays but if he doesn't start Ben Arfa or Marveaux if Cabaye goes then it will be an awful game by us. Skirge
Yohan Cabaye says Newcastle United are enjoying away games this season 27 Jan 2014 07:56 Yohan Cabaye believes Newcastle United have shaken off the travel sickness that left them fighting for their Premier League lives last season Newcastle United’s man of the moment Yohan Cabaye believes they have shaken off the travel sickness that left them fighting for their Premier League lives last season. And insisted he and his team-mates are revelling when it comes to road trips this term. Sources in France say that United rejected a £14million bid for Cabaye from Paris St-Germain over the weekend – but as reported in Saturday’s Chronicle, Newcastle will only accept an astronomical offer for the midfield talisman. Now though, Cabaye wants to add to United’s impressive tally of victories away from St James’ Park this season after helping TREBLE last term’s haul of just two wins away from home. Indeed, this season it has well and truly been a case of “Away the lads” with United’s six road-trip wins actually better than title contenders Manchester City and Champions League chasers Liverpool with Newcastle’s form away from home in the top six. Newcastle couldn’t buy an away triumph at times last term, winning at just Aston Villa and relegated Queens Park Rangers during their slump to 16th. Cabaye suggested Newcastle enjoy playing in front of the travelling hardcore fans who make the long journeys from Tyneside just as much as they do at home this season with five wins at St James’ Park and six away. The Toon Army will make the 402-mile round trip tomorrow night and many of the supporters buses won’t be arriving back to Newcastle until the small hours of Wednesday with a full day at work awaiting many of them. Cabaye will be hoping to deliver another great win and has suggested the magic formula that has served them so well on away days could come up trumps at Carrow Road. Cabaye said ahead of the crunch clash: “The home team has to play to win the game and to attack. “We are staying solid and we can play well. “We play well at home but sometimes it is more difficult. “We have to improve at home against teams who stay and defend.” Newcastle’s victory at West Ham in their last road-trip encounter saw Cabaye deliver a first-class performance as he bagged twice to send the 3,000-strong Geordie faithful home happy. Cabaye said: “We won at West Ham. “Now we have to work and stay confident for the future. “Even if we had not played well at West Ham, the most important thing was the win. “Fortunately for us we did both. “Our confidence is very nice, so we have to carry on and work hard to stay where we are.” Newcastle helped cement eighth place in the Premier League table with that victory, but United boss Alan Pardew wants to break back into the European chasing pack. He said before making the long trip to the team’s plush hotel in Norfolk: “The top-seven clubs have been dominant this season. We want to impact on that.” Meanwhile, it is understood United’s attempt to swap Papiss Cisse for Luuk de Jong on loan stalled over the weekend. Sources in Germany say the two clubs may renew talks this week. As reported in the Chronicle last Thursday, the Magpies are ready to offload the out-of-form No 9. However, interested parties must match his current wages at United and make the deal a permanent move with assurances of first-team football. Newcastle were also linked with Lyon star Clément Grenier over the weekend. Grenier is a central midfielder who signed a new deal with the French club last year until 2016. However, he remains open to a possible move abroad. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/yohan-cabaye-says-newcastle-united-6595657

Some of the shit Man Utd fans have talked about Mata this week ffs. Literally making generic shit up as they go along. The ones I know couldn't think of a good formation with him, in fact the one they agreed on was one I suggested, the absolute bastards. I never let it get to me, but I've finally snapped from this Cabaye stuff.

Guest Walter
Manchester United are considering a bid for Yohan Cabaye, who is valued at £25m by Newcastle United, in the last days of the transfer window, though the champions face competition from Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain. The French club have had a £14m offer for Cabaye rejected. David Moyes' priority is to strengthen his midfield and, though Cabaye is not considered by the United manager to be in the highest bracket of player, the 28-year-old is proven in the Premier League and a France international who, it is felt inside Old Trafford, would help United's push for a Champions League place. While United would price Cabaye at less than £25m, the club's hierarchy recognise that a premium will have to be paid to attract players, as was shown by their willingness to spend £37.1m on Juan Mata.
