AlanSkÃrare
Really good performance. Worked his bollocks off and managed to fight for every ball. Not the first time he's caused us problems when defending a corner though.
Guest firetotheworks
That was probably the hardest I've seen him work.
Kanj
The Demba we all remembered last season. Was gutted he didn't bury that volley mind you - looked difficult as fuck.
Lush Vlad
He normally looks fucked after about 50-60 minutes, even with a strike partner. Seemed to last a bit longer when he wasn't doing the donkey work and had Shola or Best as the target man mind. However, he worked himself into the ground yesterday. Was a handful all game for their back 4 and challenged almost every ball in some way or another. Thought he might go off for Cisse and despite HBA also being visibly fucked, in hindsight that would have been the better decision IMO.
Mole_Toonfan
Didn't think he was that good tbh, he worked ridiculously hard but nothing came from it hard work is not enough for me to say he was " great". Obviously given the circumstances he did his role well but i can't really say he was good or great or like he was last season.
Flip
He worked his socks off alone up top and created couple of chances. What more can you expect from him? It was him against 4 defender all day and he got the better of all 4 on many occassions. Unlucky not to have scored yesterday.

Of course but is that really enough to say he was great? i don't expect much more tbf but to be great i would have thought he would have to perform above my expectations. For example Cabaye has been working like a mad dog all season trying to cover the defense while being severely outnumbered in midfield but all i see is how poor he has been. Work rate no matter how high it has been is not enough for me to say it was a great performance. I guess my "perception" of a great performance is different. Flip
No one is saying he had a great way in that sense. What I think most people mean is that he had a great game given the circumstances. I cant see a striker having a much better game given the circumstances.

Yorkie
The wording was slightly more optimistic in the BBC interview. As it stands though i'm expecting him to be out for Liverpool, such is our luck with injuries this season.

ponsaelius
Whatever you say about his attitude, adaptability to formations, allround game etc; 30 goals in 55 Prem appearances since he came over from Germany
Kanj
When there is a flick and a bouncing ball in the box, I'm more confident in Demba than anyone to bury it in the back of the net. His ability to hit those are fucking incredible.

I think his link up play is poorer than a lot of the other top strikers, but generally I agree. He has a lot to his game.
Tooj
Somebody like Wenger is mental for not trying to buy him this summer. Can't see him going to Liverpool though as he won't play wide left, as you can't imagine Suarez would want to either.

Why is Wenger mental?, Ba would never fit into a system like arsenal, their fowards inter-change and move all over the place, most importantly they are comfortable on the ball when they receive it which is used to bring midfielders into play. Ba's strengths are not those attributes.

That's without even mentioning all the other things he's better at.

That's without even mentioning all the other things he's better at. they usually play with one man upfront, Ba is a better finisher for sure , but you seriously think he would fit in as the main foward in a arsenal system? he would have to interchange move about, thats not his game, and his ability on the ball is less than average, how often do you see Demba Ba receive a ball and successfully pass to a team mate? not very often. and he's not very good at holding the ball up either. his strengths are getting on the end of long balls and crosses to convert towards goal, something that arsenal dont do very much. dont get me wrong im not calling Ba lazy, because he works hard to chase after the ball when we dont have it. he's a pure poacher and i dont mean it in a derogatory way.
