Of the two bids, i think the Gomis one is the serious effort for some reason. Ba seems more like a token effort.

Or it might be a kick up the backside for Gomis/Lyon - get the deal done or we'll bring in Ba.

While possible i just dont think JFK and the rest of them are that clever.

Doubt Ba will want to come back here anyway. He seems pretty confident and committed to nicking a place at Chelsea regardless of the competition. And then you have a crap Torres in the equation and a chance to partner his idol if they sign Eto'o.

He doesn't figure in Mourinho's plans. Is he going to get a look in ahead of Torres, Eto'o and Lukaku? I doubt it. Unless he gets a big money move in the next week, I think he'd come back no problem if we were genuinely interested.

He's one to fight for his place if that is what he wants. And there will surely be other options, some of which offering European football if he wants to leave.

If there are other options which are so attractive you'd think the deal would be more or less done by now. I've not heard anything concrete yet.

Cos Chelsea wants to bring in Rooney or Eto'o before letting him go? Lots of things can happen once they sign someone and look to shift one of the 3. Not forgetting too that the Russian window closes at a later date to the rest of Europe.

If Ba came back.... would people seriously want to see him wide to accommodate Cisse in the middle? the same Cisse from the last year?

Yep. Nothing has changed, Ba is much more suitable to the left-side role.

Transfer deadline day: NUFC will try for Demba Ba on loan if Gomis bid falls through http://bit.ly/17fQFdl  #NUFC

#nufc aren't trying to sign both Gomis and Ba. The pair have just emerged as targets from a transfer meeting yesterday involving Kinnear

We are obviously getting desperate if the above is the case as they obviously have not managed to come up with any alternatives.

Being lazy here like but have Senegal qualified for the World Cup?

Top of their table (qualifiers).

Would still need to play a play-off to qualify.

Can't really afford to be left out of the squad this season then. He needs games but I'd imagine there would be a lot of hoops to jump through to get this one done. most of them down to money.

I'd want them fighting for one spot, who performs better plays.

 Would be a waste in any other position.

Not really. I'd rather we rotated the strikers like I suggested we should have done last season. But Pardew likes to shoehorn his purples into the team wherever he can fit them so we've seen Ba on the left wing and Cisse on the right previously. This is because Pardew is a massive twat.

Nope I'd want Cisse dropped but that of course causes problems in the medium term.

Ba is so much better at winning the ball, holding it up and everything else. I have no issue with him being started out wide for Colo's/Krul's distribution then moving inside when we actually build up play.
