Stottie
This is the last thing we need, so fingers crossed. If the players we've signed have an impact and Cisse finds his shooting boots, we could even let him go in thirteen or fourteen weeks' time if safety seems assured. Europa League aside, this season is now all about doing everything to stay up. If that is achieved (basically six wins), the rest of the games are largely meaningless. Nobody
So there actually is a press conference?
TBG
It's just the pre-match one they're always done on a Thursday.
Pilko
Yeah, there's normally a Thursday presser isn't there? This isn't the one that was 'scheduled' or 'booked in' or whatever that people were bullshitting about, this is just the usual weekly one.
Fenham Mag
So there actually is a press conference? It's for the unveiling of Gouffran but will probably be questions on Colo/Sissoko etc.

BeloEmre
So there actually is a press conference? AyeDubbleYoo
Even if he's there, I doubt he's likely to give many straight answers about Colo. Anyway, we'll see.
colinmk
Have to sort something out and let him go, the problem is obviously not going to go away and is far more important than his job.
afar
Let him go. Cancel Colo's contract and find a replacement. If it's a matter of life and death the club really shouldn't stand in his way. What makes you think that it is? that blog suggest it's been ongoing for a while, even before he extended his contract, so doubt it's to do with serious ilness. Just a hunch. It's hard to tell as there's been no statement from either camp. If it were a life and death thing, Colo would be crazy not to leak that to the press, it would paint the club as the evil oppressor if they didn't let him walk. Legally it's perfectly in Colo's hands, he can retire from football, pretty sure that option is always available to him. If all it is, is that his wife isn't happy living in Newcastle, I'm sorry but that's not a big enough reason for the club to right of millions of pounds and further weaken our team during this critical period. Wallace
It was said yesterday that they booked a bigger venue that normal for the press conference which raised the question why. I guess it was due to all the French media they were expecting.

AyeDubbleYoo
I have an idea for newspaper websites, why not just post a story saying Colo is set to stay, and then another one saying he's set to leave. Got all your bases covered then. Eh? Eh?
