Got the feeling this could turn out to be a decent signing, even if the guy isn't top quality. He's young and hungry to play, will fit in well with the new group of (French) lads and all that.

Haven't seen him play for a while, but it does seem to make sense as a cheapish signing.

Valencia only came in when Ronaldo left and missed half a season due to an injury. Giggs and Park have basically been converted into central midfielders in the last few years. We were pretty thin on the wing. It's clear he was brought in to add depth to that area but he hasn't done it and that's why he's being shipped out and Young has been brought in.

hasn't park played a fair bit on the wings in big games?

A few years ago. Sky Sports and the like will show him as being on the left hand wing a lot of the time but he tucks into centre midfield. It's Park though, he can crop up anywhere like Alan Smith.

He's 100% a CM now since the arrival of Young.

All he really needs to do is be better than Routledge. Not much is expected of him.

Depends on whether he's the replacement for Joey.

Regardless of whether Barton goes or not I doubt Obertan would be first choice on the right.

Who would be incase of Barton's departure?

Jonas? Doubt it as he's much better on the left and is important to Enrique.

Marveaux? Doubt it as he's not fit, yet.

Jonas or Marveaux, or possibly even Ben Arfa when fit.

The Jonas+Enrique combination will no longer be an issue ;)

As I was saying in the other thred, even if this statement was true it just shows what a bit of first team football can  do.

His show reel looks good. Have to say, hand on my heart that i do remember watching him for Manu as i was quite curious. Thought he was rubbish. By their standards anyway. But then they are so far ahead of us that players that are utterly shit for them might be ok for the state of our football team now.
