tmonkey
He looked turboshit today.
Si
Gotta remember how few games he's played over the last couple of years, needs time and games.
James
Not impressed. One good thing he can do though is carry the ball away from danger when we are defending a corner. Maybe he'd be a better sub. Hopefully Gosling will get the nod next time.
Guest ObiChrisKenobi
I think people are forgetting that ~20min he jumped straight up into space to return back to his home planet to save them from certain doom.
Geordie Ahmed
Gotta remember how few games he's played over the last couple of years, needs time and games. It is the ambling and sort of half arsed attempts that is a bit worrying BUT still early days so hopefully he will get better as he plays more
Guest sicko2ndbest
He looked turboshit today. No he didn't Showed glimpses
joeyt
His pace looks really useful, he does seem quite casual when laying the ball back to people, and needs to get his head up
Guest
I think he'll be much more effective as an impact sub.
Dinho lad
There were times today where his trickery was needed, but for some reason was kinda reluctant.
David28
Better version of Routledge.
Sifu
Was disappointed in him today tbh.
durhamunigeordie
On today's showing he would perhaps be better as an impact sub, however it is still early days - I am hoping that he will get better as he is given time on the pitch, we must not forget that he hasn't played a lot of football in the last couple of years. Guest BlacknWhiteArmy
Impact sub for the time being. But he looked decent when he has options around him in the final third I thought.
Ameritoon
Got better as the game went on, but he'll be much better as a super sub. Get Marveaux in or a new striker to start in that postiiton.
Yorkie
Total garbage today like. Didn't have the first clue what to do with the ball. I want to give him the benefit of the doubt though cos, we didn't really work together up top for any great lengths of time. Everyone was very isolated, including Obertan. But he just didn't look very good - Jonas looked a cut above. Early days though, can't write him off cos if anything - his pace will be an asset to us. I don't think that's his position at all. ShearMagic
I think he'll be much more effective as an impact sub. So much this. He has the skills, he has the pace, but one thing that he lacks is confidence. Wasn't great today, but he was far from 'turboshit'. He's definitely shown promising signs for me - however I do think he is going to be best used as an impact sub
timeEd32
Got better as the game went on, but he'll be much better as a super sub. Get Marveaux in or a new striker to start in that postiiton. Agree with all of this.
Parsley
He wasn't that bad like. His movement was decent I thought, made plenty of good runs off the man and was the only real player that gave us an attacking outlet in that respect. His end product wasn't there today admittedly, but I reckon it'll come with time.
mozy
His cross when Shola was offside was decent.
Flip
Was thinking exactly the same thing regarding impact sub. Seems to be a playe who can make the samek kind of impact as Nile did for us last couple of seasons but with more effectiveness. Hit teams on the break when leading 1-0 and so on, but still won't blame Pardew if he's willing to give Obertan time as a starting XI player only time will really tell though. Kanj
With all his individual skill, Pardew really needs to work with him on confidence - few times he should have just went to goal, but sort of ran without a real purpose.
ChrisMcQuillan
He wasn't that bad at all. Needed support which wasn't present around him cause we were so deep most of the time.
Begbie
Did anyone see when he was alone and tried to head the ball? He missed it the first time, then it bounced back up again and he missed it in a second attempt to head.. Funny moment :-D
Guest CheickMansour
Would prefer to play him off the striker. Seemed a bit lost on the wings.
