Well first of all there are some right wankers posting on here as usual. Constantly criticising individual players, why don't you just f*** off and support the mackems, you know who you are.

And second of all...?

JackWilshere Jack Wilshere

Need to get theo on and attacking the full backs!

Jack knows.

No he doesn't.  You're doing a good enough job in that area.

You just need to tell Gervinho to shoot because your other players are pussyfooting around in the area.

Given our shambolic pre-season, and how confidently Arsenal started, very pleased with that first half.

Colo was great. Our attacking tactics were a little non-existent, but not disconsolate about it. Still feel like Arsenal are there for the taking if we try and a bit more patiently when going forward instead of hitting terrible killer balls to Ba and Shola.

Maybe an extra man in midfield might be useful.

We have absolutely zero intent to keep the ball. Why? Why adopt such a mentality when we have arguably two of the most gifted players, technically, on the pitch on Barton and Cabaye- the latter being an immense passer of the ball, you can see even the way he picks out a pass he's got that special little chip in his brain that makes him different class.

The Ameobi-Ba partnership just appears pointless imo. There's no theory to how we should utilise them, it's just aimless long balls launched into Arsenal's half in the hope of something happening out of nothing. We need to change things asap. It'll be interesting to see where Obertan's put on.

If it weren't for the outstanding positioning of Coloccini we'd be behind, for sure. Lets get on that shaggin' ball and give them a game! HOWAY!!

Only the one side though, if we had Walcott and Gervinho playing either side we would be in a better position I think.

We're having a real detrimental effect on the players.  We really must stop discussion what we're watching.  You're right.

Nobody has played that badly, the fact that it's 0-0 against a good looking Arsenal team is the proof of that. Simpson, Taylor and especially Shola have all played well. The speed of the game is passing Cobaye a little but that's half to be expected, Tiote is off the pace a little as well. These are not criticisms of the players, they are both working very hard to close down space.

really glad we're still in it and that, for all their possession, arsenal have been poor (Gervinho aside).

Pardew's got his tactics wrong so far. Ba and Shola have been atrocious, Cabaye and Tiote invisible, though Cabaye's shown some neat touches. Doesn't help that the latter two have never played together and that Tiote looks off the pace and sloppy - no surprises there.

but it is also cos Cabaye and Tiote both like to sit back. means there's no link between midfield and attack, no one to support Shola and Ba when they get it, or try and work it forward slowly and cohesively.

if you play two deep lying midfielders you need that link, in the way of wingers cutting in, full-backs bombing forward, and one of the strikers to drop back, play with his back to goal and be more creative. we don't really have any of that, bar Jonas who has had to help out raylor most game. Full-backs are both awful getting forward and neither Ba or Shola can drop back and link play. need to make it a midfield three with Jonas or Obertan in attacking mid or perhaps get Gosling's energy into the game.

tactics so far mean we have no shape to the side, our attacking play solely consists of one of the centre-halves trying to plug that gap between mid and attack by bombing forward - never a good idea. or barton swinging it long to the forwards who either miss the ball or immediately surrender possession. or cabaye playing through balls from 60 yards away that have no chance of reaching their target.

Oh and I'd like to reserve a facepalm for Steven Taylor and his idiotic attempt to beat two Arsenal midfielders on 26 minutes.

No doubt he'll now a score a goal and all will be forgotten. ;)

It's not a good looking Arsenal actually, they've been by their standards pretty awful, otherwise they would be up by a few by now.

There's nobody to hold the ball up, so ultimately we're clearing it straight back to them for them to come at us again.

Get Obertan on to link the midfield and striker, I say striker because it has to be one of Ameobi or Ba that makes way.

Yeah, Arsenal have been below par, which is the only reason this game is 0-0.

We've been below par as well, but it looks like we're that way for a good reason (shit tactics and shit players), whereas they have had moments where their quality came through.
