Newcastle United 0-0 Arsenal - 13/8/11 - post match reaction from p33

Recommended Posts

It's a red for Gervinho but Barton was embarrassing as fuck. The ref didn't give the penalty so why the fuck is he picking up Gervinho and getting in his face like that?

Because players don't like other players trying to cheat. It's the height of unsportsmanship.

I've seen many players react to other players diving but I haven't seen an overreaction like in all my time of watching football. No one has literally hauled up the other player and manhandled him.

I'm going to defend Barton to the hilt here. He got the yellow he deserved for starting s***. Gervinho got the red he deserved for losing his temper.

Sorry, but Barton is the one who lost his temper. He no onlty initiated the argument, but continued in a physical altercation once both were stood up.

Barton didn't throw the punch.

He still didn't strike his opponent, which is the big difference there

Raised his hands = sending off offence.

Yep, Gervinho lost his temper. Barton was overly aggressive and wound Gervinho up, which isnt nice to see, but Gervinho fell for it like a mug.

Aye. I'm not saying Joey shouldn't have been sent off mind u. It's grey for me, cos I'm not sure what the hauling off the ground part does card-wise.
