Rich
Likely to start given the fullbacks that are missing?

binnsy
Good for him, bad for us as a week of light training and rest would have been good for him.

Tiresias
Least we have Haidara as backup now. I'd worry if he wasn't getting caps he'd be tempted to move back to italy to get in the national team. Considering the lack of pace on wings in Italy imo he'd rip up the Italian league atm and amazed Inter let him go. Who is his competition in the national squad? Dave
Always a good thing when our players receive international recognition. It's a major plus that prospective signings and existing performers believe they can be noticed here.

Depends where they use him if its at LB then it will be Balzaretti and Criscito. ( i haven't seen the squad mind but that's the usual lot)
Rich
Balzaretti, Maggio and Cheillini are out. Criscito isn't included. Think it's between Santon and Peluso for LB.

Guest fraser
He'll get more chances to bomb forward with Debauchery stretching the opposition on the other flank. Goal soon. At one point point he ran infield to find his outlet was Debuchy on the other side. Amazing how much pressing we were doing and how much further forward up the pitch we were as a team. Smal
Think he had 93% vs Villa as well whilst everyone else (apart from Perch) had lower than 80%. He really does not give the ball away easily and when he does go long it's normally very accurate
Weznufc
great news for him, glad to see it
GuyP
I expect De Ceglie will be competition in the future, and from their perspective will be first choice as i can see them wanting to nail down as close to an all Juve back line as possible; De Ceglie Santon Barzagli Chiellini Bonucci Could be more likely. Has Criscito been called up since moving to Russia even? Im glad Abate didnt go there like
Zero
I never imagine I would say this but now I am glad Jose left us or else we couldn't pick this gem up.
aussiemag
I never imagine I would say this but now I am glad Jose left us or else we couldn't pick this gem up. I think Santon is still a fair way off, the level Jose was at in his last season with us. His rate of improvement is so encouraging though. Hes destined to be a top fullback, once he begins to position himself better defensively.
Guest palnese
Defensively he's way behind Enrique, but he's already better going forward.

I agree, although I think Jose's link up with Jonas was something magical for those two seasons, in an attacking sense.
Mole_Toonfan
Jose was only that good defensively because Jonas was holding his hand every game, just look at him since leaving and having no such help he doesn't even look 5% of the same player. morla84
Rather easy to forget how young this lad still is, gonna get better and better over the next 5 years so I hope we can keep hold of him

The College Dropout
If Jonas was holding Jose's hand defensively, Jonas has been coddling Davide.
