Why are the media and pundits so far from the truth when it comes to us, the thick bastards.

It fits the narrative that is championed by the national press and SKY. It sells papers and clicks links. Truth is, London media will be terrified of a successful NUFC.

Away from the potential conspiracy theory smokescreen to stop expenditure in January, there is a more worrying possibility.

Should he have to advertise the sale? Seems a bit of a worry this couldn't get done in private, which means two things; no-one is interested, certainly no-one that will be able to take the club any further forward or more likely the asking price is unrealistic. Hopefully he is true to his word for once and drops the price so he can fuck off before Christmas.

I'm not sure what they want to achieve by publicly putting it up for sale. They don't give a shit about fans interests or uncertainty around the players, fans, club. never have so why start now? Going publicly is surely only to put the pressure on those that have already registered interest otherwise he is just setting himself up to look desperate so potential buyers will sit til he drops his asking price.

Ashley loves the attention and he loves taking the piss out of desperate Newcastle fans. The club is in the best place it's been for yonks, it's a brilliant time to destabilise it again. Obviously him fucking off would be fantastic but there's absolutely nothing to suggest he suddenly wants to give the fans genuine hope by selling up.

Unless there's something concrete then I'm treating all of this as nonsense tbh. No surprise that it's come out via Sky again btw.

A formal announcement of what has unofficially been known for some considerable time is of some interest - but perhaps more significantly, invalidates all recent claims of takeover bids and ongoing interest.

Quite simply were Amanda Staveley, those mysterious Chinese bidders or anyone else to have had a genuine interest in the club, this statement wouldn't exist.

That it does is confirmation that an awful lot of speculation masquerading as knowledge has been foisted on Newcastle supporters in recent weeks.
