I was just saying this on Facebook. If it was Man U or Liverpool he had ruined he'd need security with him 24/7 and his shops would be ashes.

a fair number of the fans who still go were still thinking it was all rosey again after the window.

So many of our fanbase are simpletons.  It's what Shepherd did, just spend some cash 1-2 years too late to keep fans happy.

The club is dysfunctional on all levels.

Yep.

'Spend a few quid and that'll shut the stupid cunts up' seems to have been the order of the day.

Wasn't it Soccernomics, amongst others, who broadly correlate success and league position with wage bill? If so, is it any wonder we're rapidly disintegrating as a competitive entity while someone like Stoke continue to improve.

Pretty certain our wage bill is a lot higher than 19th place

You could easily be talking about the press there. How often do we hear "you can't blame Mike Ashley after he spent £x"?

Supposedly back in talks to buy BHS. Says he'll save all the stores and all the jobs. No doubt he'll fill them with tat, put the staff on zero hours contracts and insist on a deal regarding the pension deficit.

We may get some new advertising boards out of it.

Well that's bullshit, it was last week that he was trying to buy a large amount of shops off them for SD stores. He might try and buy them but he'll change them over to SD stores where he can and the rest will have their lease sold on to someone else.

He'll be positively giddy about having the opportunity to do some more cost cutting. Probably come up and fire people personally at their homes whilst wearing a solid gold suit.
