To Tony Pulis midfield is an inconvience and something that stupid other teams persist with. They essentially don't use it at all. Their two CMs don't move out of a certain area and if they so much as do something as silly as make a run into the box or try to play through midfield they'd be getting a boot to the head in the dressing room.

Whelan takes the odd shot and Delap hoys it in, that is pretty much all they do. Bit of a shame really as if they worked through there more and got the wingers in behind they'd be a lot better.

That oatcake fanzine is a proper charver forum, looks fucking disgusting. Red, white & blue with a load of old heeds stuck in the background, adverts all over too, it hurts my eyes.

EDIT:

Good grief...

Like in any sport, you take out the danger person as quickly as possible, within the rules of the game. Someone should have taken Suarez out the other night.

Hope we can take "BA" out tomorrow night. If it happens to be on his dodgy knee, then so be it.

Small thing, but I hate the way he has written "BA". He didn't write "SUAREZ", so why the fuck did he give Ba's name that treatment?

Really are the charvers of the league.

I wish they more than anyone would get relegated, but unfortunately with so much shit in the league their long ball, hackers union style football will be enough to keep them up for the forseeable future.

OP wrote Ba in capitals in the thread title, he is mimicking it.

I'm going to completely ignore this post and still think it is because he's a cunt Stoke supporter.

Glad Pardew says he'll approach the game differently to last season, lessons have been learned hopefully. We have the players to put them on the back foot so we should concentrate on playing our own game and make their big defenders look clumsy with quick passing and movement. Ben Arfa and Ba will make the runs it's a case of service. Besides all this talk of their big players, scoring headers isn't just about being big and hard it's also about movement. Get in behind their defence and we'll do damage, cross from deep and they'll just defend it all day long. It's key we get our wide players into the game, let's hope Obertan's final ball improves this time around.

When we lose possession it's important we don't sit deep because this'll suit Stoke who'll happily launch balls 'into the mixer'. Hold a high line and make them play football. With that sort of game we could get on top of the midfield battle. Really hoping Tiote makes it, he's arguably our best player.

Despite their long ball reputation, Stoke are a handy outfit especially at home. Whilst their central midfielders are not particularly creative, their wingers are tricky and pacy. With our full backs, I would think Pennant and Etherington will be tasked to take on Simmo and Taylor and get quality crosses into Walters and Crouch who are handy in the air.

Without Tiote, Best and with Saylor possibly wary with his nose injury, I can see Stoke peppering our back line in the air.

My major worry is that I dont think we are particularly strong in the air at the back, especially without the likes of Best, Amobi, Williamson and Tiote being available to counter the tall timber Stoke will send forward for set pieces.

It will be an interesting game but we must not sit deep or lump it forward but be patient and play the ball around lookong for the opening on the deck.

Having said that, I would be happy with a point  tonight.

The appalling Sol Cambell played last year and a timid Williamson, Colo's brilliance alone in that game could not stem the tide at the back, especially as Enrique was withdrawn early in the game with a hamstring pull.

It should be different at the back tonight and if Tiote can make it we can then get a grip in midfield.

These are beatable.

Best and Taylor will both play by all accounts. Not sure on Tiote.

Well match day started in the Tree household with the best of Frank Sinatra over breakfast followed by copacabana, the monster mash and a good dose of Trololol to set up a really positive day.  :banana2:

School run over, feeling ready to rumble and looking forward to slaying the stoke dragon tonight. 5-1 to us. Marveaux to start and Ben Arfa off the bench to get his first goal of the season.  :frantic:
