Our defence has been so settled this year that I often look at these formations without checking out the back 5 and just look at what people fancy for midfield and up front.

Do people really think that playing Simpson in the centre as opposed to Santon is a good idea? I think Santon would be a much more steadier option there.

 

Based on what? He's played 15mins of Premier League football.

Play Tiote at CB as Barcelona do with Mascherano/Sergio Buschets, and keep Guthrie and Cabaye in CM. I trust him more than Simpson, Perch, Santon. The problem is, that in any case, we'll be severely lacking height.
